Personally, I don’t give a shit if Donald Trump is the most powerful Republican in America as long as we continue to marginalize all Republicans and they never gain power again.
Dems need both the WH and the Senate this round, work on the House in 2018 and come out full force in 2020 to begin the process of reversing the obscene gerrymandering drawn by the GOP after the last census.
Would be nice if Kentuckians remember that this liar said he would make sure that Kynect was protected. But they won’t. All this liar has to say is “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus” and his marks will continue to shot themselves in the foot by voting Republican.
This is yuge. Ryan is not-endorsing-but-still-voting-for somebody called “The Republican Nominee.” But Yertle ties that albatross willingly around his own neck.
He’s up again in 2020. I’m hoping Kentucky Dems will nominate Adam Edelen and ride HRC’s reelection coattails.
… in the long run, though, the country rather needs two parties, to be it’s best self. It needs a “loyal opposition.” I do emphasize “loyal,” and the Republican party has not been loyal to the US for some time…
I was thinking this also: let Donald Trump be the most powerful republican in the country, living under the 59th St bridge and mumbling into his sterno.
If we’re going to have a two-party system (which really never worked that well) we’re going to need a new second party.
This is who Mitch “obstruct to make Obama a one term president” McConnell is. Party is more important than country. Didn’t he promise that a GOP congress would ‘constrain’ a president Trump? As ridiculous as that ‘promise’ was, this is really who he is - make Trump the most Powerful Republican (ever).
Let this proclamation become a figurative millstone around McConnell’s neck. In order to “Win” he is willing to tank his country, tank the economy, and - ironically - tank his own party - all for a “win”… for his party.
The narrative going forward needs to be the following: When Trump mentions about Mexico paying for the wall, he’s referring to the fixing the Patriot Act to do the deed; someone should ask Mitch, John, Paul and Kevin about how do they stand on this issue?
McConnell bought up this wild idea that even though its federally subsidized, the Kentucky ACA program would survive the federal program getting repealed. Its time to remind him of that.
John Cornyn bought up that Clinton is going to be investigated, even if she was to get 300+ EV’s and yet a guy who has at least two substantial court dates going forward is qualified to be president. They need to get asked about why is that the case.
What McConnell is really asking for is for the voters to make him the most powerful Republican in the country. He’s under the illusion that he will be able to keep Trump in check - cf. the German industrialists.
As a Kentuckian (well, for the last 30 years anyway), we have electronic voting devices. Unfortunately, a huge percentage of Kentuckians vote Republican because they keep promising to ‘bring coal back’, but they never do because they can’t. But they keep PROMISING to bring coal back. And a majority of Kentuckians (most of whom don’t even know anyone who has ever worked in coal fields) keep believing that lie. It is really amazing, really, how many vote against their own best interests.
