McConnell suggested that the Senate would be better served working on issues that have some bipartisan consensus

I’m pretty sure that if the Founding Fathers wanted Supreme Court justices to be picked by the American people, they would have told us. It’s amazing how often these strict constitutionalists rewrite the Constitution any time it’s convenient. It’s almost as if…they’re just making shit up as they go along and don’t really have any core rules at all. It’s Calvinball, all the time.

Orrin Hatch in the background is priceless…

And you think you’ll get a better nominee next year with Clinton after you’ve lost the Senate? In the meantime good luck getting any decisions to break your way with a 4-4 split court.

Mark Kirk isn’t enough. Even if we could get five Republicans to say publicly they would vote to confirm, as long as McConnell is in charge, the nomination will never be brought to a vote. I see absolutely no way to get a nominee past these fuckwads.

Mitch McConnell: Go fuck yourself.

Can McConnell persuade Trump to make his entire campaign about the issue of who should replace Justice Scalia, and stop talking about the wall, immigrants, and Muslims? I didn’t think so. So how will the American people’s vote really be a referendum on the next justice?

My prediction is that once it becomes apparent Trump is going to lose, and in they lose the Senate, they will vote to confirm Garland during the lame duck session.

However, the GOP knows no depths to their incompetence. Even after losing the White House and Senate, they will still have enough votes to filibuster the next president’s SCOTUS pick. I am not sure they will bend, even once the American people have spoken.

No one’s asking you to “endlessly debate.” They’re asking you to debate for the time it takes to have a fair hearing, then vote. Like every other SC nominee in history, including ones nominated in election years.

McConnell suggested that the Senate would be better served working on issues that have some bipartisan consensus.

Let’s start by not trying to repeal the ACA again.

The American People did have a say, they elected President Obama to a 4 year term not a 3 year 2 month term. Do your fucking job.

Ah, but you’re assuming they have the ability to plan out their strategies more than an hour in advance. We’re talking about party leaders who couldn’t even prevent Donald F-ing Trump from stealing their nomination. These bozos are clearly making it up as they go along and were it not for a media machine constantly propping them up, they’d have been cast aside years ago.

I’ll repeat what I posted on another thread. I’ve been around watching politics since my late teens 50 years ago. I’ve never heard a speech so dripping with personal hatred and deep racism as I heard from McConnell this morning in response to Obama’s nomination. Read his words and you miss the emotion behind them. This man HATES everything about Obama. Vicious hatred and racism was his intent. According to McConnell Presidents are not allowed to make appointments in their last year. I wonder what Justice Brandeis would have to say if he were around these days. I will celebrate when McConnell is turned out of office.

About this “Let the people decide” crap…We have decided. Obama was elected twice and the Senate has a GOP majority. That’s the people’s choice Mitch. Fucking deal with it. Oh and by the way Mitch. You aren’t helping your ground game tactically. You have put yourself in a box due to your all consuming hatred of Obama. You can choose Garland now or Sri Srinivaisan in about 10 months time when Hillary is back in the White House. Mitch you may as well measure some curtains for that box you are in.

“So let’s give them a voice. Let’s let the American people decide.”.These “american people” yurtle is referring too are those individuals and corporations that represent the US plutocracy of which are best served by a conservative SCOTUS. not the blue collar worker, or middle class wage earner…

Why isnt there ANY fucking retribution towards these assholes?.

Heres the deal. Twrump called mcturtle and swears he is going to be the next president. Then he promised mcdick a job signing very important legislation that will cause riots. He promised to pay all legal fees to the devil for him when he goes to hell for being an asshole.
McConnell is a terminal cancer on the whole institution and should be held accountable for treason against this country many times over.

And, uh, exactly which issues are those?
BTW where’s your budget?
Where’s your ACA alternative bill?
Where’s your jobs bill?
Does the Senate do anything under your leadership?

Yeah we got your “American People” shit right here. We all know what this is about but given the current…right now…politics in the USA why are they bothering? As time goes by it looks less and less likely a GOP’er’s headed for the White House in 2017. But, if that GOP’er is Trump after a major attempt to fuck him at the Convention he’s likely to nominate Jon Stewart to that Court.

What is the point in suffering political fallout without an upside?

Yet another obvious point completely ignored by the media when interviewing any GOPer.
