If Senator Ayotte is “deeply disturbed” by her own straw man argument, perhaps she should stop making it.
“I’ve been deeply disturbed by the misrepresentations that are being made about what the Hobby Lobby decision means,” (Ayotte) said. “There is nothing in the Hobby Lobby ruling that allows a company to stop a woman from getting or filling a prescription for contraception.”
There’s nothing in the ruling that allows employers to stop their employees from buying cars either. That’s not the point and what is truly infuriating about the GOP claims of so-called “misrepresentations.” The ruling states employers no longer have to buy into any kind of healthcare plan if any part of it goes against “strongly-held” religious beliefs, facts be damned. (It seems “strongly-held” is VERY subjective when it comes to 401K investing, however.) The whole premise of the ACA was to give ALL Americans access to affordable healthcare, and paying out-of-pocket for prescription meds is NOT AFFORDABLE.
“There is nothing in the Hobby Lobby ruling that allows a company to stop a woman from getting or filling a prescription for contraception.”
That’s kind of like saying there’s nothing about the minimum wage that allows Wal-Mart to stop their employees from buying yachts.
I wonder where Ayotte stands on the talk down to women meme.
This is going to cut into her time defending “Mom’s for More Guns”.
Anyone defending the Hobby Lobby decision should have to answer the following questions:
1). Does a corporation have the religious right to pick and choose what sort of FDA-approved medications are covered by their insurance plans?
2). If not, why should contraception be treated differently than other FDA-approved medications?
Ayotte said Republicans will offer legislation "that will make very clear that women have the same rights today to access contraception as they did before Obamacare was passed, and before the Hobby Lobby decision.
Yeah right, the party that considers contraception as immoral and unconstitutional is now floating “same rights today” baloney (while GOP controlled states close as many health clinics as possible.)
I’m calling your bluff, Ayotte.
Right? It’s a pretty simple question they should have to answer.
Do you consider some forms of contraception to be abortifacients?
Do you support laws that would deny or limit access to abortifacients?
Why do Republicans, male and female, think that we all stupid? Don’t they know we know who lies and misrepresents the facts, by now? I am so tired of these people. Please vote in Democrats in 2014 like your lives depend on it. Because it does. Get these republicans out of our beds and vaginas so that our government can focus on jobs and peace.
The right-wing continues to pick away at Women’s rights while denying they are doing it.
‘It’s OK honey, don’t worry your pretty little head about these things, the Men will take care of it for you & looky, here’s a Woman to calm your emotions and call it freedom.’
GOP Women are especially vile, owned by Men with money.
Vote Them Out! Vote them Out!!!
