Carson is beating her now. The problem with Hillary is she has 100% name recognition and ~60% think she is untrustworthy and dishonest.
Opinions about Hillary are not going to change. If you like Hillary now, you will always like Hillary. If you can’t stand her now, you are always going to dislike her.
However, if Democrats want to nominate someone with near 60% unfavorables than go right ahead.
No one has to torpedo her, she does it all by herself.

They punt and form a committee to study the question. A “Special Task Force” if you will. McTurtle has been in the Senate 30 years. He knows the ins and outs of every arcane rule that keeps the body functioning (or not functioning.) He also knows his caucus and who will support what.
He could announce his decision on what he will support and allow by 6 AM tomorrow. This is a stalling action on something he knows is a bad idea for Rethugs in the long run.

Those who collects benefits that never paid into the system. Furthermore, Medicare isnt an entitlement like Social Security. It has no direct funding source that you pay into that you then draw from when you reach the eligibility age. Unless of course you think the 2.9% that comes from payroll taxes funds Medicare.
Furthermore, to qualify for Medicare you only have have been a legal resident for 5 years prior to age 65, so it isn’t really an entitlement in the traditional sense.
Changing the Senate seems to be more difficult than just amending the Constitution. According to Article V: “… no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.” So, it sounds like every State would have to agree to such as amendment. (Or at least every State that was being “deprived”.)
I’m a Democrat, and I don’t feel like that would be making me pay at all. In fact I would welcome a complete abolition of the filibuster, unless a Senator is willing to actually, you know, filibuster and hold the floor until his prostate explodes (which would not take too long given the age of these dinosaurs), and I wish Reid would have already done it. Elections should have consequences. The Senate is the most undemocratic body of bullshit spewing halfwits on earth, except maybe the British HOL.

McConnell isn’t after revenge, the whole point of the brinksmanship with the judges was to nuke the filibuster, preferably in a way that the Democrats could be blamed for it.
Getting rid of the filibuster means that it will be easier for the Democrats to undo tax breaks etc for Republican cronies. Which sounds like a mistake for the Republicans if you consider them to be a party with a policy mission. But it makes perfect sense if you consider them to be a gang of extortionists seeking to maximize their leverage.
The filibuster is going if the Dems retake the senate and hold the White house. So McConnell might as well let his backers know to pony up the megabucks for the 2016 race if they don’t want the Democrats in full control.

The point of this is because if, at retirement age, you can’t afford insurance (because most retirement plans kick you off at medicare age), we don’t eat the cost of elderly care in the marketplace and through additional taxes.
He’s totally going to nuke what’s left of the filibuster while Obama still has the veto and a year before the Democrats are likely to control the Senate.

Only this isn’t at all true. Her favorables were much, much higher just a couple of months ago. The same can be said for her head to head match-ups. She was killing every GOPer in the race. There’s no reason at all for anyone to believe the polls won’t revert to the mean just as they did with Obama in 2012. There’s no reason to believe that somehow her polling today will be the same or worse two months from now, just as her polling two months ago was much higher than it is today.
