Discussion for article #228605

What’s not to like about Mitch McConnell? I heard he’s a big Blue Devils fan.

I listened to the entirety of this (god bless me) and was blown away that Mitch McC is going around dropping the “CBO says Obamacare will cost 2.5m jobs” nonsense when that talking point has been thoroughly debunked.

I think his attitude was a big tell-- you dont come on and be a jerk on a show like that if you are feeling comfortable with your campaign. There may be a subset of KY voters that will warm to his being an ass, but they were his voters to begin with.

“bit of a jerk”? Total jerk.

I would have thought that Maryland is his fave college team.

Mitch is buckling under the pressure Grimes is putting on him.

He’s going to make another angry mistake—a much bigger one—sometime in the next couple of weeks.

I think the enormous bag of dicks is off-putting.

Also removing the bag you find there’s nobody left to talk to.

Didn’t listen. Did he bring up the “Keystone Pipeline will create 10,000 of jobs” lie? These two memes seem to go well hand in hand.

No wonder Mitch is angry.

'Liberals aren’t the only folks who are tired of Mitch McConnell (R-KY). Conservatives are sharpening their knives for the Republican Senate Minority Leader and Republicans are questioning his leadership strategy of All-Obstruction All-The-Time. After the latest Kentucky Bluegrass Poll showing Alison Lundergan Grimes (D-KY) leading McConnell along with Democrats running better Senatorial campaigns, conservatives are calling for new leadership if Republicans don’t take back the Senate and Republicans are wondering if they should have tried harder to work with Democrats."

He’s thrown everything but the kitchen sink at her and she’s still smiling.

There’s a much larger subset of KY voters who will be mad as hell when they find out he’s both a UofL and UK fan. You can’t be both.

No shit, dumbasses! McConnell wouldn’t even be in this position if it weren’t for his decision to treat the first black president as though he’s Satan incarnate. By doing so, by making Obama the definition of evil, he tied his own hands behind his back and made it impossible for his party to work with Democrats to even keep the country’s lights on. That strategy of all demonization all the time turned his base into apoplectic crazies who so hate the president that they oppose his wife’s initiatives to keep their own kids from dying of diabetes. This sort of knee-jerk opposition is what allowed the TP to take hold. Had they not gone so far out of their way to oppose and demonize the president and Democrats in general, McConnell would almost certainly be Majority Leader by now. Now it’s looking increasingly unlikely he’ll even be a senator next year. He was so desperate to hurt the president, to make him a one-termer, that he may have effectively destroyed his own party.

Not only that he has a low opinion of women who want to lead. Look at the hate he is directing at Allison Grimes; Hour after hour, day after day, week after week. His campaign ads are really creepy.

Oddly political sports show. Is it really Obama enthusiastic?

Perhaps this will have legs. In one sense it’s not a major issue, but as Robert Earl Keene has sung, “It’s the little things that piss me off”. He could lose votes in both Louisville and Lexington with this one.

Mitch suffers from being on the wrong side of practically every issue. The poll tracker is not good news for him: sliding in October.
