So Kavanaugh gets booted. Knowing Trump, doesn’t that mean he seeks out the biggest flaming asshole he can find as a replacement nom? Someone better vetted, no issues that would scuttle the assured number of GOPer Senators needed to confirm. Yet Kavanaugh on steroids as far as future damage to civil rights, voting, reproductive rights, money in politics, etc?

I read this as Trump has gone directly from Stage 1 to Stage 7, and skipped 2 thru 6. He’s laying the groundwork in his own mind to abandon Kavanaugh, his MO whenever things get tough. Cut and run.
