Discussion for article #224125
Will McCarthy demand that storm victims be denied help like Cantor always did (except for his own state) ? Those are big shoes to fill.
This makes no sense to me. At all.
McCarthy is going to be House Leader of a group of crazies who are ACTIVELY trying to bring down the US government. A Republican from a Blue State that isn’t even respected amongst this House.
Scalise, the new Whip, is flat-out opposed to raising the debt ceiling.
How is this supposed to work?
What makes you think it’s supposed to work? The Republicans’ efforts have always been focused on ensuring that Obama and the Democrats FAIL!
Sp no real Business of America was done today either??
The interesting thing is that McCarthy comes from a state where the GOTP found out what happens when they got to implement their policies and the voters got a good look at the results.
And nothing else!
McCarthy is my rep. I think this is the best thing that ever happened, because his entire political career has proceeded with very little scrutiny thanks the broad path-clearing of his predecessor Bill Thomas. Bill “Guy Who Inserted the Thimerosal Provision in the Patriot Act” Thomas had the corporate patronage thing down pat. Beyond his district’s two main powers, Big Ag and Big Oil, Bill received his top donations from Eli Lilly and other Big Pharma firms. Kev, in his footsteps has consistently voted against the interests of children, the poor and a sustainable future (which is a bit odd considering he has two children of his own). His hometown Bakersfield has the worst air quality in the nation and is the top issuer of fracking permits in California. San Joaquin “snow” (salt) blows across misfarmed land and 10km3 of groundwater goes missing every year. Let the sun shine in!
A couple of “do-nothings” for the 21st-Century “know-nothings”. Without fire-breathers in the leadership, the “hell, no” caucus will sit on their hands this summer
Is it oxymoronic to speak of more nihilism?
Inquiring minds want to know.
