Fine with me. If they want to sacrifice their entire entourage of grifters and racists for their orange calf, so be it. Trump has only ever been a symptom of their disease. If Trump throws enough people under the bus to remain unimpeached but destroys the GOP and their power structure in doing it, it’s a better outcome than impeaching him but leaving the Republicans intact.

Kevin McCarthy never saw the Confederate Flag on Steve King’s desk.
McCarthy’s tenure seems to be caught in a vice between the need to be re-elected in an increasingly diversifying electorate and his own reputation tarred among his constituents by standing behind Trump during his P.R. photo-ops, while they suffer from the closure of federal facilities in their neighborhoods. The only thing McCarthy now has going for him is that the district remains largely owned by corporate interests, who will continue to donate to him so that he will protect them from public scrutiny and permit their predatory business practices. Should be tough as Pelosi puts the pressure on him to conform to new realities.
