McCarthy has put himself in a bind which might cost him the speakership but he deserves the outcome. You have to admit it must be hard for GOP members of congress to keep all of the “talking points” separate from the truth.

I have thought about this point (difficulty in keeping all of the talking points separate from the truth) at length. Some people have a knack for it. Some simply excel because of word-salad capabilities.

The truly smart ones don’t care…because the MSM need the “horserace”, thus making nearly all Repub utterances “representative of feelings across the aisle”.

In a rare moment of GOP candor and honesty, McCarthy spoke the truth. Now, of course, he’s being punished by the GOP for having broken the most serious of their laws: Thou shalt not speak the true if it reflects positively upon our hated enemies, the Democrats, the American People, or that Black Man in the White House.

Worse, his words have now forced other GOP members to violate Reagan’s Law. Clearly he’s utterly unqualified to become House Speaker and lead the Tea Party upon their Holy Crusade.

I’m strongly pro-Chaffetz. It seems that there are still millions of Americans who believe that the Republican Party has something to offer them. I’m hoping that Jason Chaffetz should be able to disabuse them of that notion, though I also thought eight years of W would have done that, as well.
