Well, that’s one…
This Trump thing looks a LITTLE like the Goldwater thing. Rats can sense when the ship is sinking.
…and so it begins.
I guess his former boss may well think the same, just can’t say it out loud when his seat is at risk.
“If you can see him plainly and you love our country, you must vote against him. Even if that means electing Hillary Clinton,” he wrote then.
There are so many blinded by their RW bigotry/ stupidity that they’ll vote for Drumpf.
I think this sort of thing will happen a lot in the coming months after Trump is the official nominee. Given that most right-wing Clinton hatred is really CDS (Clinton Derangement Syndrome) rather than based on her actual policies, the more clear-headed Republicans will be pulling the lever for her.
“If you can see him plainly and you love our country, you must vote against him. Even if that means electing Hillary Clinton,” he [Mark Salter] wrote then.
It is gratifying to see that not all Republicans are lunatics, and that at least some more are equally as concerned about the possibility of a Trump presidency as Mr. Salter is. Hopefully there is equal concern regarding the possibility of a Cruz Presidency. Both candidates are among the poorest excuses for human beings, much less leaders, that I can think of. They are both dangerous scum who feed on the most ignorant and easily led of our fellow citizens who seem all to willing to follow either Trump or Cruz into the abyss.
Like Mr.Salter, I am for her (Clinton), or him (Sanders). This go around, the possibility of having a rational Republican (oxymoron?) as President should scare the crap out of any thinking person. The future of this country may well depend upon either Clinton or Sanders or some other similarly rational, thinking candidate being elected in November.
And once droves of recognizable Republicans follow this guy’s lead it will be over.
Hmmm. Perhaps the earlier article about Trump not getting the Goldwater treatment may have to be revised.
I think Josh was right about the GOP not wanting another Goldwater redux publically. Once in the (privacy of the) voting booth, I think it’s gonna be a much different story.
I know of a few medical doctors (two surgeons; all long-time Republicans) from the Northern Virginia area who are voting for Clinton. Trump is ruining what is left–which really isn’t much, IMHO–of the GOP for anyone who has the even the faintest wish not to run the nation into a ditch for the next half century.
Expect to see more of this. Maybe even McCain himself (or at least not going out of his way to endorse or campaign for Trump). Probably Colin Powell too.
I live in a conservative Dem area with lots of people who’d LOVE to vote GOP but all but one I spoke with can’t bring themselves to vote for Trump. Interesting that they all love Ryan (“He is a Leader!” Yes, seriously, they said that.) and would vote for him over Trump or HRC.
“In “Sarah From Alaska,” we reported that contrary to Palin’s description of a pair of sunglasses shifting ominously atop Schmidt’s head, both Schmidt and Salter were actually quite satisfied with Palin’s answer [on evolution during her “vetting” for the VP slot], which dovetailed with the theory of Intelligent Design.”
I’m glad he will vote Hill, but fuck this guy to hell.
This is good news for John McCain!
sorry couldn’t resist.
Smart man. Nobody should vote for Trump -he is one dangerous guy!
Grampa’s going down so he’s job hunting.
