Discussion: McCain Warns Against Repealing Obamacare Without Replacement

“I fear we may fall under the trap of repealing and not replacing and that would be bad for America, so I will yet again pretend I’m all mavericky and then when it really counts I’ll toe the Republican line and vote in favor of whatever atrocity that comes up for a vote."

Yeah, yeah, Mr Mavericky. We’ve been here before.

You’ll fold in the end. Lucy always pulls the ball away before Charlie Brown can kick it. McGramps always speaks direful words and then votes for it anyway.

Yawn.

Your so-called replacement will also be bad for America, you twit.

Very bold…one could almost say…what? A maverick? I think the key for being a truly mavericky individual is in ones silence. “McCain has been quiet about his stance on the draft Senate bill to replace Obamacareand would not share how he would vote on the bill on Wednesday”. Yeah, he’ll vote for whatever…

I guarantee that he will end up signing any bad bill presented to him, as he has been putting party before country for many years. His Concern Sputterings are meaningless nonsense and mere Mavericky Memories of a reality that never was.

Sen McCain finally, at long last, standing tall against something that wasn’t going to happen. Mavericky!

I see the insurance industry woke him up again.

This isn’t rocket science, and McCain hasn’t suddenly gone all progressive. A straightforward repeal of the ACA without any replacement is a nightmare scenario for a lot of Republican politicians, even in solid-red states. The oppo ads write themselves: “You had health care until the Republicans took over Washington. But Republicans took away your health care and gave you nothing!”

And did you appreciate the nice buck-passing to the Governor?

Don’t have the interest or knowledge to come up with a replacement, don’t have the votes to repeal without a replacement.

However, the urge to do something is overwhelming. So it looks more and more like they’ll “replace” Obamacare with Obamacare, only shoddier. And Medicaid will get gutted because Trump promised it wouldn’t happen.

No Shit Sherlock
Especially embarrassing when they start dying in the streets or show up for town halls with pitchforks and torches

I don’t trust anyone who would choose Sarah Palin as a VP running mate! Period!

In the picture, his brow does not appear furrowed. Hmmm. That picture must have been taken before he furrowed his brow ever-so-deeply while making his mavericky statement. I fear that the next step will be when he writes a sternly-worded letter to the Turtle – THEN the gloves will REALLY be off.

Or not.

Um, yeah, there’s a very simple way to keep that from happening, Senator. Don’t vote for it. You’ve already got 48 Democrats and Susan Collins, and it’s quite unlikely that Heller or Murkowski will vote for a repeal-without-replace. There! Fear all gone. Wasn’t that easy?

In all fairness, though he is ultimately responsible for SP, he wanted Lieberman. But, two old white guys against a dynamic young black man was bad optics so he got talked into S.P. Mavricky on both counts dontcha know.
