Discussion: McCain: Trump Admin. 'Partially To Blame' For Syria Chemical Attack (VIDEO)

There is nothing in this world or the next that could give trump a macho vibe. :sunglasses:

Keep in mind he is a Republican and he gets reminded about his obligations under Party Loyalty just about every day. The fact that he held Trump even partially accountable for an incident like this is laudable under such circumstances.

MHO! :sunglasses:

And yet, if it came to a floor vote, McCain would totally rubber-stamp the attack. Both sides of his mouth must be exhausted by now.

“Now it’s vitally important we develop a strategy, we put that strategy in motion, and we bring about peace in the region.”

There have been wars and conflicts in the middle east since before Charlemagne. What does this war monger think Trump’s State Department can do? Never forget McCain cheered George W. Bush setting fire to the ant hill in the first place.

They only want to keep the press at bay long enough to shovel as much money as possible into their personal accounts before they are forced out by the internecine warfare within the Trump Cartel.

“Honor Among Thieves” is the controlling operative here.

I despise McCain as much as the next man/woman. But this is an opening for Ds. Trump did give Assad a carte blanche, and Assad used it. Trump bears responsibility for Assad’s actions. Dems should not balk from pushing this truth, particularly as McCain has now given them cover. The nauseating euphoria of the MSM in the aftermath of the attacks has now subsided. Trump’s culpability must now become the focus of discussion.

##The Milquetoast Maverick Rides Again!

The scary thing is that he got a (probably ephemeral) short-term ego bump from this, plus his power hunger got a dose of booyah, so we run the risk that he repeats this behavior, again and again, and each time ratchetting it up higher in order to squeeze another ego bump out.

ETA: oh, yeah, and about Gramps McCain here. He probably is right in this particular case, but you know damned well that he’ll back off and do something to nullify it within hours. So, screw him.

##The Milquetoast Maverick™ Rides Again!

And the media ooh-ing and ahh-ing every time he bomb-bombs something as long as he bomb-bombs something certainly won’t help. Their expected reaction this time, though expected, was hugely disappointing.

OT: Speaking of the media (vid clip embedded in the first tweet). I suspect this is also part of what the admin wanted (= to scream "I’m not Putin’s pawn, I’m not Putin’w pawn, they are accusing me, therefore don’t investigate me!)

So, what happened to the plan to deal with ISIS?

Trump’s Operation Symbolic Pinprick had Putin’s blessing. Putin has Russia’s most advanced air defense system covering that base. The Tomahawks flew right thru Russia’s most advanced S-400 Growler air defense system. With all the advance notice Russia and Syria had, they could have put their best teams on the Growlers and maybe shot many of them down. Then again, the Tomahawks have jamming and other avoidance technology designed to foil the S- 400 Growler. Perhaps Putin never wanted to try because if he failed to hit any American missiles, he might have a tougher selling them. He could avoid that embarrassment by denying his air defense was used and failed to hit any Tomahawks. Just saying, if he was not happy about the strike, he had options.

Navalny is supposed to be released from jail today in Moscow. Keep an eye on that.

It’s hard to do the long range planning and stratergerizing part of the job when he spends most of his time visiting trump properties including golf courses because the Oval Office is so booooring.

He can still execute his beloved ‘You’'re fired" shtik, so in essence boring, but it stil has its moments for someone who gets gets their thrills that way!

uummmm…who cares what Johnny McCrankyPants has to say? He could have done the honorable, responsible, thing and voted to save the filibuster for SCOTUS nominees. He could have done the honorable, responsible and patriotic thing and voted against gorsuch* – and even persuaded a few other ‘moderates’ to do likewise. He did not. He goosestepped in mcconnell’s shadow to forever politicized our Supreme Court. May he rot.
