Since McCain is probably not going to run for re-election, he may be feeling oddly unbound. Could be interesting.
I’l believe that when he starts voting against Trump’s nominees and policies. Until then it’s just his usual grandstanding to beef up his mavericky credentials.

Sorry, but he could have given this exact same speech six to twelve months ago. Nothing has changed except we’ve seen that Trump is actually trying to do the worst of what he promised.
Where was this guy in the NeverTrump movement? Where was he standing up to Trump like other conservatives (Charlie Sykes, Ana Navarro, Stuart Stevens, Rick Scott, Evan McMullin, etc.)?
Well, I’ll tell you, he was backing his party’s nominee despite the atrocious things he said about McCain and his fellow prisoners of war!
I’m sorry, but as much as I appreciate his service to America, my respect for Sen. McCain is running on empty.
As much as I dislike McCain for all the times he has chickened out of confronting his party and following his own stated views, these words were impressive. If he can follow through by really moving the Senate towards full hearings on Trump-Putin, then I think he would be doing a good thing for his legacy and his country.

He’d be saying some of the same things because this speech was directed not just at Trump both other European countries and leaders that have given into fear, tribalism, nationalism and hate.

Oh, good. John “I Chose Sarah Palin as my Running Mate” McCain is pretending again like he’s not on board with 100% of whatever is Trump wants Republican lawmakers to do and that he wouldn’t be the first to clean Trump’s boots with his tongue if it were politically advantageous.
I hope John McCain and the FBI get to the bottom of whether President Putin and the Russian intelligence had a role in the selection of Rex Tillerson for Secretary of State and Neil Gorsuch for Supreme Court.

This is such utter bullshit from ol’ Maverick. The legislative branch is controlled by the GOP, which is trying to use Trump as a decoy, to distract from plans to dismantle ACA, Social Security, and Medicare. And McCain has not voted against a single nominee, so he should STFU.
