I have very little respect for Trump, but he at least realizes that telling Trump he’s flat out wrong is the opposite of productive. But, being McCain, he can’t really stop himself by the time he gets to the end.
Buh-bye, beej
In 24 hours our national embarassment set our standard for starting a nuclear war, with all the introspection of a toilet tweet, at “no more threats.” They immediately threatened our protectorate in the Pacific. Where’s the fire and fury? Did trump leave it on the golf course?
I don’t want to hear another fucking word about President Obama’s “red line” ever again.
I just read about this at WaPo. The comments that follow are scathing and worth a read. A so-called Christian minister advocating for mass murder without any thought for the consequences. Wow.
They’re not called “Shiite Baptists” for nothing.
Because I’ve been watching how this shit works for decades. Because, just for example, time and again, “the Markets” were supposed to keep Republicans from debt default hostage taking and when Republicans did it anyway, they punished them by giving them more money before the next election. Because “the money” was never going to allow someone like Trump to become president. Because “the Markets” were incapable of seeing that the mild rebukes Obama administered to them were public placating gestures that kept their heads out of the guillotines and spent the next six years giving money to madmen. Because “the Markets” are still convinced that Trump is going to be able to deliver tax cuts, just as they thought he would deliver an end to the hated Obamacare reduction in the capital gains tax break for people with AGI greater than 200K. And, above all, because “the Markets” can’t accept that the best way to increase economic activity is to increase demand by putting more money into the hands of people who will spend it and adhere to crackpots who tell them that it’s wrong to let little people keep their money.
Ummmm, possibly FIFY (or did I miss something??).
“I have understood you”
att. Charles DeGaulle
At least we don’t have SoD Douglas MacArthur…
Maybe he could have warned Arizona against voting for Trump
Who would Jesus Nuke?
Not sure why anyone should be surprised. Religious fundamentalists are the same the world over. Too many latch on to the idea of American exceptionalism–we’re different, we’re better. We’re not. We haven’t been. We never will be.
McCain would luuhhhve to go to war with North Korea, but with himself as president, not Trump. Nuclear confrontations are best left to seasoned old combat pilots turned mavericky politician. We are all Georgians, or Seoulians (?) now.
In Arizona, the rubes are really into “tough talk by proxy”. The vicarious delight they exhibit upon hearing some conservative, congressional idiot or Trumpler spout off testosterone laden aggressive bullshit, even though it be complete nonsense, is an ethnographic marvel to behold. This is the state that gave the world Trent Franks.

Yeah, that’s what I meant. I, of course, have no respect for Trump. More like the opposite of respect to infinity. Contempt, loathing, revulsion. Like everyone else here except the Russian troll, who probably feels the same way once he’s clocked out for the day.
The bible according to Charles and David Koch…
How about common decency, you greedy jerk.
Ha! This is the first comment I saw to the WP article.
If President Obama paved the way for the anti-Christ, then obviously Trump is the anti-Christ.
Stealing that next time.
Like Flake is doing.
“It’s not terrible in what he said,” McCain added when asked if he stands with Trump. “It’s kind of the classic Trump in that he overstates things.”
I’ve written to my two senators, and congress critter, Feinstein, Harris and Pelosi, telling them know I think the orange thing is unhinged and needs to be removed from office stat. I don’t think any of them are inclined to equivocate about this man’s state of mind.
Seems the Dems have a legitimate opening for criticizing the Prez here. Will they?
