Discussion: McCain: If Trump Begins Waterboarding He'll Be In Court In 'A New York Minute'

John McCain has no credibility. He caved to George Bush on torture and he will cave to Trump as well.

Despite my general level of disgust with John McCain, I am going to give him credit for taking a strong stance with this statement on torture. (Perhaps I’m just looking for any reason to be hopeful that someone will stand up to Trump.)

So what? Sooner or later, any case going after Trump would make its way to a Supreme Court with one or more justices appointed by Trump.

Screw national or international law. It’s a new era, and Trump will be able to get away with whatever he chooses, no matter how much harm that does.

Why would a pathological liar like Trump deviate from his common practice by admitting the truth- that he okayed water boarding? Even Cheney called it “enhanced interrogation.” So when we are governed like Putin governs, we will never know, as in most closed societies and totalitarian regimes.

How mavericky of you, John, but your integrity and credibility can be summed up in two words: Sarah Palin.

“We will not waterboard. We will not torture people.”

Newsflash bucko, we already did, remember?

I don’t recall you doing a god damn thing about it then either.

Remember that it was Obama and Holder who failed to prosecute the Bush/Cheney war criminals. But Obama also stopped torturing people and went directly to killing them using drones, including American citizens without due process.

Obama kept a secret “Kill List.” Trump most certainly will have one, too.

From the guy who tortured the nation with Sarah Palin.

Once again, It can’t be said too often or too loud:

Fuck you, Sid McCrashcup!

Sorry, but McCain supported this pro-torture President-elect so his statement should neither be believed nor respected until he can prove his word should be trusted. Considering we’ve had almost a year to appoint a judge to the supreme court who would uphold anti-torture legislation and McCain helped block that nomination from even getting a hearing, I won’t hold my breath.

The entire GOP is corrupt and devoid of morality until they repeatedly prove otherwise. They can start by approving Garland to the supreme court or ensuring some of the following aren’t given positions of influence and authority in the Trump administration: Bannon, Sessions, Flynn and Kobach, to name a few.

I could probably get on board with waterboarding if it were to be expanded for all manners of crime, starting with white-collar criminals. Just imagine the new revelations and easier prosecutions we could have when Wall St miscreants (for ex.) experience some intense water play to help their memories recall various doings, both real and imagined. Wouldn’t the Wells-Fargo, HSBC, Bank of America, AIG (etc etc) messes be moved along toward justice much more quickly? Even the Trump Univ case would have settled better for the ripped-off victims, no doubt. Government corruption cases and those within the Military/Industrial Complex would be over in a snap, especially if reality-tv producers could get involved. Imagine the fun when viewers could decide whether to convict or not, using their smart phones.

Notice that I don’t propose any of this for blue-collar suspects. They are already being tortured by the system with ridiculous bail amounts, detention centers (Rikers Island, for ex.), and bad lawyering both from their PDs and the prosecutors.

“So help me if you start waterboarding I’ll vote for Gary Johnson again”

The ACLU raised $7 million hours after the elections and they stand ready to go after the orange thing. They’ve got lawyers and volunteers and Jonny Mc only has a mouth which is near a mic.

Yes, John. With a newly appointed Supreme Court Justice
(far rightwinger) and Jefferson Sessions as the AG not only will they say torture is as American as apple pie but they may even order that anyone questioning that should be…oh, I don’t know…maybe waterboarded.

“If they started waterboarding, I swear to you that we’d have them in court in a New York minute,” McCain said.
I would suggest Grandpa, that if waterboarding is found and if that it happened on trump’s direct order that the court you mention would be the US Senate after impeachment by the House of Representatives. Then you toss his Walking Shitgibbon Clusterfuck ass out on Pennsylvania Ave and lock the White House door and toss the key. Then take him to some criminal court and try his ample ass all over again.

Yeah, but W never called him names, but rather brought him birthday cakes (even while New Orleans drowned). Big difference.

Trump not only promised to bring back waterboard but he also said they might kill the innocent family members of terrorists. Guess he is taking back to the old testament days.
