Discussion: McCain, Graham Say They Will Vote For Rex Tillerson As Secretary Of State

And when Russian invades/annexes Ukraine, I hope McCain keeps his goddamned mouth shut.

Of course they will: Party before country.

Once again, I have to add this because it can’t possibly be said loud enough or often enough:

Fuck You, Sid McCrashcup!

P.S. Call your Senators tomorrow to oppose this. Shut. It. Down.

Is there an emoticon of a sleepy looking Frenchmen with a beret, a cigarette dangling from his mouth and an expression of ennui?

If you’re not going to do your jobs and serve the interests of the American people, resign and let others who will take your seats.

@sonsofares I believe you mean, ā€œthe rest of Ukraineā€. The country has already undergone its first partition Ć  la Poland-Lithuania.

Shorter Idiots: After much reflection, we have come to like and love Putin. He is just like us: White and a Dictator.

He said it was not ā€œan easy callā€ but said that he is giving Trump ā€œthe benefit of the doubt.ā€

"When there’s doubt the president, the incoming president, gets the benefit of the doubt, and that’s the way I’ve treated every president that I’ve had the obligation to vote for or against as a member of the United States Senate," McCain said

I’d look, but — it, I don’t care, except for finding out what one more person has to say.

ā€œThis is why I am voting for him,ā€ Graham said. ā€œIn my office visit he said that when America doesn’t lead, other people will, and the vacuum is always filled by bad actors. He said that we have to have a foreign policy that engages the world, we need to lead from the front.ā€

Not even checking

Ok, its official.

The modern day GOP will say whatever they want, whenever they want, in relation to supposedly reining in Trump. All of those statements are frankly lies. There is no real disconnect in that party. Its just them taking turns at being ā€˜good cop, bad cop’.

I guess Putin/Trump/McConnell got to them. Add two more Russian stooges to the Trump traitor list.

I think he’ll walk the walk too. The Republicans are nothing if not masters at party discipline – though I have to admit I also thought there was a chance that McCain and Graham might not cave.

But they did. There are apparently no suprises these days.

So the Bobsey Twins march in lockstep with the rest of the Republican apparatchiks!

Fine by me.

Unless there were defections or more foul ups, Tillerson and the rest of the cabinet were getting confirmed.

All I want to see now is frankly two things:1) are the confirmation and committee votes going to be along party lines? and 2) What is the debate going to look like?

At this point, I just want everything to be on the record.

Keep in mind, We only need a unanimous Democratic opposition and three defections to block a Trump/Putin cabinet nominee. McCain and Graham would have been two, plus Rubio would have made three.

No chance of that now - though I suppose the odds were always low.

Reports have Manchin voting for Sessions and chances are he will be voting for Perry as well.
