Graham/McCain: If I were Obama, I would have invaded Russia and bomb the crap out of them. How dare they elect someone from my party.
Trump: I am getting PO. Dont these buffoons want my help in screwing the USA, something the Republicans always wanted?
I realize the main concern should be what the Russian response might be. However, Iâm really interested in what is going to happen within the Republican party. Ryan (while criticizing Obamaâs policies) said sanctions are appropriate and now we have McCain and Graham jumping on board. Where does that leave Trump who suggested we all just âmove on?â The two factions are going to need each other to get legislation passed.
During an interview on CBSâ âFace the Nation,â McCain said that he would like to create a select committee to investigate Russian hacking. And both McCain and Graham signed a letter calling on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to set up a special committee to investigate Russian attempts to influence the 2016 election.
Well. Well well well. That is interesting news.
Indeed - far be it for me to put faith in their base, but perhaps at least some of their constituents are not quite so blase about Russian interference in our election as His Fraudulency would have us (and some in the press) believe.
Or maybe theyâre staking out a position that will leave them well clear of the smoking crater after a disaster they think is inevitable.
Glad to hear it; I will watch, though, to see if they actually come through or if they, too, will fall to the corrupting influence of the new regime in Washington.
His fraudulency is just looking to the next deal; others may be considering just how looking the other way in the face of such blatant conduct by a foreign power affects the perception of their party, for the long term.
These ciphers will soon rubber stamp every Trump horror. And we pay them too.
In an interview with CNN that aired on Tuesday, Graham said that â99 of usâ out out of 100 senators agree that Russia was behind hacks into the Democratic National Committee and other Democratic groups during the presidential race.
So either Texasâs senior senator is the one lone voice or its his boss, Kentuckyâs senior senator who is against that person.
Then again, that person could be Burr, which would be very ironic and troubling,
Unless they are lying again, Trump is now adrift.
Same here. Theyâre both Republicans, though, so my first instinct is to believe they are lying and/or totally self-serving. That said, Iâm with you â I am glad to hear it, really appreciate their support, etc., but due to GOP actions during Bill Clintonâs administration, GWBâs time in office and particularly toward President Barack Obama, I will not trust their intentions until theyâve sufficiently proven their loyalty to American ideals. At this point, I donât trust either of these two characters.
Sanctions Are âSmall Price For Russia To Payâ
Looks like a bigger price for Herr Drumpf.
And imagine, Trump hasnât even been sworn in yet. Wrap your brain around that.
Once more, âPeterâ (Trump) is possibly looking at too many âwolvesâ in regards to this.
Now the same ones who have to hold strong, are the same ones who were âdistancingâ themselves from Trump during this cycle.
But thatâs why the above is basically a hedge.
Either they are serious about Crimea or this posturing is just background for a Klondike ad,
McConnell was calling these errors, ârookie mistakesâ.
There are still people too dense to understand the gravity of this situation and the lackadaisical negligence of our âleadersâ to properly address the obvious danger we are now facing .America, letâs hold these people to their wordâŚthis must be investigated with the same exuberance and sense of purpose as Benghazi or the phony email scandel. We are flirting with an internal calamity if this is allowed to be glossed over by idealogues.
Hope these two can hold their breath waiting for Mango Mussolini to sign off on that billâŚnah. gunna. happen. Heâs too cozy with his buddy Putin. The cognitive dissonance exhibited here is stunning.
How about a Fox News chyron-style slogan:
RUSSIAN HACKING: TRUMP AND CO. SOFT ON DEMOCRACY?
People refusing to vote, or voting third party had a far more pernicious effect than Russia in 2016 election.
Yes, this is obnoxious, but itâs a side show.
Trump should be hammered 24/7 on his non-stand on the Russian hacking. It happened, it helped him win (just like the FBI interference), and when he says âletâs move onâ it looks he is saying it doesnât matter how you win, just that you win. It didnât work for Nixon after his win in 1972 - and it shouldnât work for Trump now. After all, Nixon actually DID have a landslide victory. I hope the Republican senators make Trump pay for making fun of all the Republicans who ran for President in this century - the one who laughs last, laughs best. There are many reasons Trump could face impeachment - just look at âemolumentsâ and business conflicts - but if his people KNEW the Russians were hacking and it was intended to benefit Trump and to hurt Clinton, how is this not treasonous? When Trump encouraged the Russians to look for Hillaryâs missing emails what did he mean and what does this mean for Americaâs electoral process? McCain and Graham - do your jobs, be real patriots, force McConnell to into a âdump Trumpâ position - or force him to resign for arranging for his wife Elaine Chao to get a position in the Trump administration. Then look into McConnellâs obstruction of the Merrick Garland nomination - was that all based on principle or was he influenced by rightwing money?
