Discussion for article #241364
What, it took you this long to notice?
Dear John, it is still nothing compared to the impact of GOPās utter stupidity, bigotry and bs on your brand!
$arah palin is outraged!
ā¦derogatory language like āThat oneā and āSarah Palinā?
" McCain: GOPersā Use Of Derogatory Language Is Hurting The Republican Party"
No Senator, the Republican party and itās representatives and Presidential candidates are HURTING The Republican Party.
No , grandpaā¦itās not hurting the GOTPā¦ itās consolidating your party. The bigotry, misogyny, the anti-scientific, the nativismā¦ theyāre bringing all your people together, in one happy band of tin foil hat wearing mouth breathersā¦Your champion, Heir (sic) Trump embodies all you are. Iād say you reflect your true values now more than everā¦
He didnāt seem to mind it when he has Sarah Palin running around accusing Obama of being a terrorist.
Iām sure he minded that a lot, but he had no choice. He trusted his handlers and they blew it, and once selected he could not trash her. He certainly never backed her on such talk. All indications are that he was frustrated as hell every time she opened her mouth, but there was nothing he could do about it.
In fact during the campaign, a couple of people at rallies called Obama names, and he corrected them.
Iām no fan of his policies, but heās a hell of a lot more reasonable and civil than most Republicans.
Well, Sarah went rogue, dontcha know.
So being called a Muslim is derogatory? Come on TPM, youāre better than this. You just played into the racist and xenophobic narrative through lazy writing.
Very weird that a member of the Republican Party has to remind his Party about this.
Very, very weird that members of the Republican Party donāt care about it.
Very, very, very weird that religious leaders consider these same members holy.
Unbelievably weird that the beltway media pretends the Party is fixed now.
āIf we disparage each other and impugn character of each other, then after the primary is over then obviously thereās a trust and support deficit among the American people.ā
This has been the strategy of the GOP since Obama won election.
Sunday Morning McCain is a disciple of Goldwater and Atwater, he was taught to keep his bigotry to himself! These young racist have no discipline.
I often disagree with McCain, and then his instincts as a gentleman come through. When youāre right, youāre right.
More than once during the campaign, Palin accused Obama of āpaling around with terroristsā. He said nothing then and has said nothing to rebuke those claims since then. He and guys like him are the reason this kind of rhetoric goes on and why it continues.
He and his establishment buddies like McConnell repeatedly describe Obama in terms that can only lead one to believe Obama hates America, doesnāt want to keep us safe, and seeks to give aide and comfort to terrorists. In fact, Dick Cheney has said said some of these things verbatim. The natural progression of thought is the kind of hateful rhetoric we hear from Palin and the like. Guys like McCain throw out red meat to the base and then hide behind bomb-throwers like Palin. They then stand around looking like the Monopoly guy with their palms in the air dismayed as to why the Donald Trumps of the world are engaging in hate-speech. Well, you built this, Senator.
Your reap what you sow, dude. Itās in the Bible, so you know itās true.
Not just that Pal but your policies suck ass too. And beating up on the less fortunate and women and minorities aināt cutting it either. And being the party of crusty old white men isnt gonna help in the demographics PR department. So yeaā¦your party is in serious doo doo.
Hurting their non-existent chances.
Itās not really the ālanguageā is it? Itās what they are saying. McCain acts as if the GOP doesnāt mean what it says itās just so bad with ālanguageā it comes across all wrong. Bull shit. They know exactly what theyāre saying and theyād say a lot worse if they thought it would fly.
