Discussion: McCain Doesn't Care What Insurers Think About Obamacare Repeal

Shorter McCain: Get off my lawn!

Okay, insurers are irrelevant, so who is going to provide health insurance? The GOP? John McCain?

I am stilll trying to figure out what Mc DOES care about. So far, it’s just his lawn.

(But I have a sneaky feeling the bazillion retirees of AZ will grab their pitchforks if he targets their Medicare)

Just wait until they take away his Medicare.

“what has been a miserable failure”

For a miserable failure, Senator McCain, just look in the mirror.

And what do insurance companies or the American Medical Association have to do with health care anyway? Not a darn thing! Don’t they know that Republicans in Congress and their egos are what really matters in all this?

It’s tragic that these idiots have to submarine progress, hurt millions of people, killing many, just because they hate Obama so much. I hope they are seriously punished for all the damage they’ll be doing. And I hope the media will bang the drum, reminding the public that the ACA was essentially the Republican answer to health care reform in the first place.

Still crazy after all these years.

McCain said that because insurers supported “what has been a miserable failure, I am not interested in hearing their recipes for fixing it.”
McCain said if Congress passes a law, insurers “have to obey it,” but “they are not at the table in negotiating.”

So no following the those who are in the open market? And it sounds like insurance companies will do what we tell them to do or else.

Obamacare, a GOP constructed pejorative for the Affordable Care and Patient Protection Act is taken from the name of the man that waxed McCain’s ass in a presidential election. That of course has nothing to do with his remarks.

“Insurance companies are the people who signed up to Obamacare. They have no relevance to me. I don’t want to hear from 'em,” McCain told reporters. “We’ll devise our own replacement. We don’t need the insurance companies to sign on or AMA.”

Yeah, who needs insurance! We’ll just barter chickens for our care in the future!

Seriously I’m glad the GOP is writing off the insurance lobby, because it’ll make it so much easier to pass single payer once they’ve run themselves out of office by crashing and burning our entire system of healthcare provision.

No doubt, McCain is not even making sense here. He’s just trying to say he’s not beholden to the insurance lobby and we all know that is total bs.

trump will fake battle with congress, not repeal ACA, but rebrand it as trump care just as it is, then sell it to the rubes who will say, “that’s genius!” and buy it. We must be vigilant against his rebranding and tweeting bs. Bosses often take other’s ideas and successes and claim them for their own and get away with it…he’s just like that and we really need to stay on top of it.

How do you have American or even many European countries
type or the Israeli system of health insurance without insurance companies.? Does this mean McCain supports Single Payer? A British style NHS? You can bet he loves his senate plan as well as his VA care.
