Because what veterans need is some smug, Bible-thumping [1] chickenhawk with zero military experience.

And he has that Republican gene (Rep) that makes them pretend that soldiers, vets and other Americans are best served by appropriating billions of dollars intended for their needs, wellbeing and security for no-bid/no-show contracts for whatever corporation greases their palms.
