Yeah, John, blather some more. Only once have you shown some spine, then back to genuflecting with the rest of your comrades in evil.
Get lost. Nobody’s listening any more.
My first thought is that Trump wants to release the memo with names unredacted so that Putin will know who our American agents are and will then be able to deal with them. Traitor of the first water.
I have always been driven to distraction by the phony, media-created-“moderate”-hero, '80s S & L scofflaw, spineless pandering political opportunist John McCain, but compared to the ethics and intelligence of Donald Trump, Gramps looks like a combination of FDR, Benjamin Disraeli, and Mahatma Gandhi.
The Russians who were in DC a few days ago probably got advanced copies. Let the “disappearing” begin.
Sen McCain: you are right about Trump and his attacks on the FBI and DOJ. But I believe you served Putin’s interests by putting Sarah Palin on the ticket as your VP in 2008. Having an idiot in or near the White House serves Putin’s interests.
Any Senate Democrats have anything to say on this? Chuck? I bet we’ll get a “this is irresponsible and deeply regrettable”… Maybe they’ll write a sternly worded letter?
Look, I’m not a big McCain fan, but there are going to be two narratives competing to be the headline tomorrow. One will be the one the White House has been planning for two weeks. The other is “McCain Accuses Nunes of Serving Putin’s interests.” This is literally the best chance we have of derailing the rhetorical momentum towards a dictatorship.
Yeah, everything about this seems to be a way to get the GOP voters to scream “Burn all the sources!!”
“…only serve Putin’s interests”
I do think he’s seeing that is a feature, not a bug. But…we need more.
Exactly so. Like it or not most Americans see McCain as a patriot if not a hero and this matters right now.
I wish he’d vote like he talks but right now, fuck that - he’s saying what the country needs to hear.
If only there was some one who could do something about the Russian interference in our political system?..mmmmmmm maybe like a US Senator? McCain- quit issuing bullshit statements and actually DO something about this- or step aside for someone who will.
I feel like the proper course of action for the Democrats should be , to shut the government down until after the next election. If the republicans stalled the supreme court appointment until after the election. It would only be fair to wait for the people to decide how to fund a government that can’t operate within the constitution.
Talk, talk, talk. Issuing statement, issue statements, issue statements. How about introducing a motion to censure Trump on the Senate floor?
I am sure many will (or already have) decried McCain with “well why haven’t you impeached him yet!?!?11” whataboutism, but that’s a pretty damn strong statement.
If only there were some, oh, what do you call it, an opposing force, a compelling alternative vision. Political party! Yes, that’s the word I was looking for. If only there were some political party that could storm the ramparts about now, instead of relying upon an ill and likely dying member of the President’s own party to explain the clear and present dangers to the nation.
I agree with you, but it’s regrettable that a full force response wasn’t already set. Everyone could see this train coming from a mile away.
This is a nice rhetorical flourish, “storm the ramparts”. What does it mean? Do you want Nancy Pelosi to start swinging a mace? Maybe shove Paul Ryan in the reflecting pool?
Thanks for checking in, Sid. Now
Go Fuck Yourself!
Yes, anarchy would be a brilliant response. I don’t see how that could backfire in any way.
FFS
Oh, I don’t know, perhaps they could start by having a uniform, sustained response to an act everyone could see coming since last week. Perhaps they could lay out in stark terms what is at stake, and what this charade is about. But I think you know that already. Still, my deepest apologies for employing a rhetorical flourish that offends you.
