yeah… there might be a 100 Klan members in Ferguson but the ethnic breakdown isn’t going to help you much… and I’m going to assume there are actually some non-black people that actually have a conscience…

Hundreds of supporters he says. That doesn’t sound like more than 15% of registered voters so the recall effort should work if they get busy.
I agree that the Mayor had to know what was going on and chose to look the other way. His whole salary likely came from the racial profiling which from what I’ve read is about 14% of Ferguson’s revenue.
There are many towns around Ferguson that are much worse, some up to 40% but Ferguson is in the spotlight and is where the cure will begin. The cancer needs to be removed 100% in order to heal. Mayor James Knowles 111 will always represent the past and for the mere $350.00 a month that he receives for his ceremonial position, he can afford to move on and to focus at his full time job.
