Defense Secretary James Mattis said there was “no doubt” that America’s relationship with Russia has worsened during his time in the Trump administration.
Well, this all depends on your POV. If our national interests are the measure, then yes. Relations with Russia have worsened since T rumpp came on the national political scene. If personal gains are the measure, then T rumpp thinks everything’s fine. His kompromat is still a secret, and he’s still getting his pats on the head, just like a good little doggo.
Even Mattis ponying up for the dog and pony show on Fox, trying to make people believe that Trump is not in Putin’s pocket. That is what all the bluster about bad relations is about…

And although it’s not a popular opinion here for some reason I still think Mattis is trying, where he can, to hold things together and make sane decisions. You regularly hear that he argued against the more reckless moves.
