Discussion: Mattis Makes Surprise Visit To War-Weary Kabul

Mattis must do this. Cowardly Commander Bonespurs would mess his drawers the first time he heard a little boom-boom. Also, too: brown people and germs.

Kabul will be significantly calmer this week than the White House, and the intertwined web of corruption, insurgency and unreliable allies that characterizes the Afghan theater probably seems nice and simple by comparison. This might seem like a vacation to him. The most depressing part is I’m completely serious as I write this…

the United States was committed to stay the course in Afghanistan until the country is secure and stable, the statement said.

“Another thousand years, tops.” He continued.

What a stark contrast in character btw General Matthis, and Individual-1.

I guess it’s good that Mattis is doing this, but I have to wonder how much of this is getting out of DC for the weekend as a different kind of massacre takes place.

Mattis: Ha, ha, ha, no lie detectors over here.

Compared to the tribal warfare being conducted at the Oval Trailer, Kabul must seem like Xanadu to Mattis…

You all know, since Trump knows more then Generals, that he sent Mattis with the solution.
Mattis will be forever grateful to his Commander-in-Chief for his leadership and understanding of complex situations.

How about this? China already is training a battalion of Aghans along the shared border. China has a lot of business interests there and currently is Afghanistan’s third largest trade partner. The One Belt One Road goes through Kabul. Let the Chinese have a larger role if not the most definitive role in the future there. The United States clearly took their eye off the ball when we went to Iraq so this is the consequence. Only China can provide the stability needed to allow Afghanistan to have some measure of peace. Afghanistan could stand to make billions to provide security for the oil pipeline to India and Pakistan, so the mineral rights to the country are huge and China is already mining there.

If that freaking Charlie Wilson had been drummed out of office, the Russians would own the Afghanistan problem. It has no sea port. The minerals it has are no treasure because of lacking infrastructure and dangers of operating there. In sticking it to the Russians, we stuck it to ourselves. Thanks CIA.
