Trump reportedly ignored the advice of his closest advisers, including James Mattis, who reportedly warned that ISIS still has a footing in the region and told Trump that a U.S. withdrawal would ignite chaos.
Mattis should have known warning Trump one of his decisions would cause chaos is exactly the type of decision Trump gravitates to making.

Let’s not forget that this guy was fired by Obama for being a total warmonger, and he was very happy while Trump was throwing countless billions into the black-hole that is the Pentagon. Besides, the Military-Industrial complex will be taken good care by the ex-Boeing executive Shanahan.

What WILL be different are the various ways that Republican Rats will rationalize jumping off the sinking SS †Я☭MP in the ensuing months as Mueller exposes the corruption, rust and decay. Not even the musicians will continue to play and die for the cause.
Khyber had a take on this that was not very flattering to Mattis a few days ago…having to do with this particular item having an effect on the Senate 2018 elections.
The thing is, I have a take on it which has less of a focus on what Mattis did or didn’t do in acquiescing to Drumpf and more of a focus on how Mattis could have used a ruse to both satisfy Drumpf on that point and actually DO something else entirely.
This particular line of reasoning involves some studying (historiography) on African American resistance to racist whites by using creative narratives.
A truer patriot would have written a more explicit resignation letter that donnie would have immediately understood. Then that patriot would march to Mueller’s office and start coughing up facts.
