Discussion for article #247017
Rubio is the Milhouse of this election.
I’m not sure what his political future is? He won’t be in the Senate anymore. Is he going to try and run for FL Governor in 2018? But remember this is a guy who won election to the Senate in a three way race by getting 41% of the vote, so a majority of Floridians didn’t vote for him. Not sure how strong he would be against Graham (who would do well for a Democrat in North Florida) or another strong Democrat. This guy blew it by dropping out of the Senate race, at least Rand Paul wasn’t that stupid.
Why do they keep trying to stop Drumpf? Don’t they realize that there isn’t much difference between his views and the rest of the GOP candidates? Why don’t they just embrace their inner racist and be done with it?
Do you have a point? Or is making up a slogan meaning nothing enough?
Why should Rubio quit? It’s not as if he has a real job, with real responsibilities to tend to.
I was hoping for some more middle school dick and urination jokes from Marco Rubio. That was really working for him.
Children, play nice.
Ha ha ha, if M.T. Suitio only had a rallying cry, something like “Repubes for Rubes!”
And yes making up slogans that say nothing is perfect for a candidate who stands for nothing but his own overweening ambition based on 19th century ideas and no political courage.
I assume he is saying Rubio is a crook and that he is waiting for a “Checkers” speech; that Rubio could raise the money to pay off the burglars, “but that it would be wrong”. Maybe he is saying “Mr. Rubio, there is a cancer on your campaign”…
I was just watching Joe Scar toss softball questions at Der Trumpstermenchen. Enough to make a guy puke.
The point (it’s more of a joke than a point) is that he’s an unpleasant secondary character, forever begging people to like him.
Playing nice is no fun.
There is a reason why Rubio has been behind in the polls in his home state for months. It’s the same reason he declined to run for re-election to the Senate. He was destined to lose that Senate race. He rode the Tea Party wave into office then claimed later not to be TPer when it’s star faded. Rubio’s star in Florida faded after the 2012 election and immigration reform. Then he stopped showing up for work in the Senate and his star burned out.
Actually that’s not true. Trump is much more of an isolationist than the neocons would like. He also is on record for his extreme views on immigration reform and deportation. The establishment wants the cheap labor and knows that they will eventually have to make some kind of truce with the hispanics before that demographic time bomb blows up in their face.
On top of that Trump’s whole demeanor will turn off moderates that the republicans need to win a elections. Trump’s been playing with a handicap by only having to win over GOP voters for the nomination. His antics work because the media portrays them through the filter of those voters. They write stories like “Today Trump [insert outrageous act] but that’s OK because his supporters won’t care.” That kind of friendly coverage goes away in the general campaign and with it his then steady onslaught of bad news would threaten to take not only him out but the GOP undercard races too.
Four years ago, Rubio was the Great Latino Hope of the Republican Party. He was the Tea Party savior who could connect with establishment Republicans…and Hispanic voters… to win the back the White House. Today, he is merely a longshot speedbump to slow down the Trump nomination. If it weren’t for Chris Christie, he’d pretty much be the most pathetic guy in their whole Party right now.
All of these clowns are “the most pathetic guy in their whole Party now”. How can anyone rank any of them a better pathetic guy than any other one? Pathetic is the single word best describing the clowns and the entire GOP. And they are all the “most pathetic” among all life, including humans, on the planet.
Sure OmAhHum…they’re all pathetic. If you’re limiting it to ‘participation prizes’. But if you’re giving out medals…Rubio is in there for a solid Silver. Watching Christie sitting behind Trump…literally, nearly kissing his ass…I’d say he’s got the Gold locked up.
I’m going to start calling them the UGOP: Underpants Gnome Old Party.

Polling shows Trump leading Rubio by nearly 10 percentage points in the state, according to TPM’s PollTracker Average.
[/quote]I am pretty surprised to see TPM reporters make such a description of their own data. The important takeaway on that chart is Rubio’s steady rise from 14% to 31% over the last two months. If that rate continues or even accelerates at all over the remaining week then we may well be looking at a statistical dead heat going into the voting.
