Discussion for article #231282
Didnât Jimmy Carter negitiate a peace treaty between Israel and Egypt? I was pretty young back then, but iâve always thought Carter was a pretty damned good negotiator.
Hey Water Boy, youâre not president, youâre not going to be president, leave foreign policy to the grown-ups.
Unless Rubio is referring to the fact that Obama doesnât allow any BS to enter into his negotiations, then Rubio may have justification for his one-sided claim. Obama doesnât negotiate down at the same level as Republicans.
marco may not want to get too far out front on this⌠apparently the pope was involved in the negotiations⌠lol
Remember when Trent Lott and the GOP collectively said that the country needs to speak with one voice re: foreign policy and anything less is treason. Of course they meant it does not apply when the president is black.
âIt puts a price on every American abroad,â he said. âGovernments now know that if they take an American hostage, they can get very significant successions from the U.S.â
Eds: Did Water Boy Rubio say âsuccessionsâ? Or âconcessionsâ?
If Rubio did say âsuccessionsâ, heâs positioning himself to be Dan Quayle on steroids.
If Rubio said âconcessionsâ, then TPM ought to consider paid copy editors. Just sayinâ.
Here ya go Marco, learn history:
GUESS WHO SWAPPED PRISONERS LIKE OBAMA? YOUR FAVORITE PRESIDENTS
When are the people of this country going to tire of these Bautista supporters who came to U.S. and have been deciding our foreign policy regarding the island nation of Cuba for decades? Get off my lawn Rubio!
2016 GOP Primary on Cuba â
Rubio and Cruz - As sons of Cuban refugees, we oppose any relations with a Castro regime.
Jeb and Romney - Iâm in favor of creating new untapped markets for American businesses.
Rand - I believe America should open up free trade with everyone.
Rick Perry - I loved him as the âShow Me The Moneyâ guy on Jerry Maguire!!!
Yeah, you know, we were this close to finally toppling the Castro regime in Cuba. Yes, our 50-year plan to bring liberation to Cuba, right on the brink of success, has just been foiled by Obama and his minions! Damn you Obama!
When it comes to foreign policy, GOPers only count their own voices. I want to see how little RIcky is going to punish his fellow Republican Flake for his apostasy
Remind me again Senator Rubio who swapped arms to Iran for Hezbollah hostages?
Who is âDrinko the Bad Credit Clownâ to criticize the President? The RNC took back their credit card from him and cut it up.
Does he really want to open up that entire hostages discussion regarding Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan? Isnât there quite a bit of evidence that Reaganâs team delayed the release of the hostages until right after he took office so he got the credit? That action alone has made me view Reagan as a kind of more charming Dick Cheney. Do I have this wrong?
Canât see of Rubio without thinking of âAlpha Houseâ.
Iâd actually agree with Rubio, but not because of how Obama handled this negotiate. I would agree that Obama is a terrible negotiater when it comes to the GOP. He lets you all get away with way too much and Americans get shafted in the process.
Between Jebbie announcing a run for the White House and this Cuba thing, Marcoâs been having a terrible week. And itâs only Wednesday!
Yes, the Guzman character captures just the right level of airheadedness. But Marco Rubio isnât nearly as handsome as Mark ConsuelosâŚ
Whatâs the deal with republicans always trying to insult former president Jimmy Carter? Jimmy Carter was the first guy I ever voted for and was proud to do it, Iâd take Jimmy Carter over teen beach party actor Marco Rubio any day of the week!
