Discussion: Mandy Patinkin: Ted Cruz Is Missing The Ethos Of 'The Princess Bride'

It seems most Republicans miss the point of most art, hacking treasures to pieces looking for something out of context to use.

Ooze comes to mindā€¦

Ted crOooze.

Cruz impresses himself for the most part and whilst doing that, he misses what a goober he truly is.
There is a big difference in being the most popular Republican and in being the leader of the world.
The Cruz following has less members than the thieves forest.

Not to mention the painter Georges Seurat in Sunday in the Park. His singing voice had incredible range and power.

Wouldnā€™t you rather listen to (and look at) Mandy than Crudz?

From his acting gigs he may have more national security knowledge than the GOP candidates.

I have 1 finger on my right hand for Cruz if he needs itā€¦

If you look at Carnivalā€™s life, itā€™s very clear that heā€™s missed the point of virtually all the literature is known to have been engaged with. If heā€™s read Ayn Randā€™s economic pornography, then Iā€™d say heā€™s seen the point of that.

But heā€™s missed the point of Ted Geiselā€™s (Dr. Seuss) ouvre (I assume that he has read Seuss beyond Green Eggs and Ham, although he missed the point of that one, too.) He missed the point of The Princess Bride; and I expect he views 1984 and Animal Farm as How-to books.

I wish the clip had given us more context. Why was Carnival acting out that scene? Of all the great scenes in that movie, why that one? What is the point?
