The unprincipled business operation that enough voters apparently elected to bring its business into the White House now lies exposed. It is a pig pen that no ill-gotten gold can ever fully cover up. We all detect its smell.
Manafort attorney Kevin Downing indicated that he intended to file a motion challenging the judge’s interpretation of a court case cited in her gag order.
“I am happy to read anything you file,” Jackson said.…with a knowing chuckle.
“Mueller faces charges in the Eastern District of Virginia.”

If he is expecting Trump to pardon him, it still remains unfinished business. I doubt he will get much business.
I am leaning on the idea that he has no choice. His pressures are not the legal system. Otherwise he would have copped a plea. Why would Gates plead guilty and then cooperate. Both are afraid of something, one has stakes much higher though.

There is no chance that Manafort gets a pardon. Apart from Trump and Putin, Manafort is one of the 10 worst human beings on the planet and is a captive Russian agent, plaything, cucked toy…name your term to describe that relationship, but you get it.
A trial on Sept. 17 keeps the story in the news right as election season kicks into high gear. If he doesn’t cooperate now, all the key details he would be able to share or corroborate will be out by September and Mueller would rather put him behind bars than give him a deal all things being equal. There isn’t much that he knows or did that Gates doesn’t also know about. It also isn’t hearsay or 'he said-he said) from Gates, because he took a lot of follow-up action items based on meetings and has email, text correspondence to confirm + Mueller has the bank account/FINCEN records.
Everyone in this story, from Putin to Kushner to Trump, is going to bury Paul Manafort. His chance at survival is to cooperate with Mueller. A rational person would cooperate in his case, but hubris, arrogance and a troubled mind can cause a person to make bad decisions. We’ll see what he does, but he really doesn’t have much time to get on the right side of a plea deal.
