Maybe they we’re just using the Trump Org accounting method. Adjust the decimal point to the left for the tax agencies and to the right for lenders/creditors.

Hey, be nice. He’s in a hard spot. It must be stressful when you never know if the knock on your door is cleaner sent to recover the debt you owe to a Russian ~~oligarch~~ very, very, very wealthy individual (to avoid offending certain judicial figures). You’d probably grift every cent you could too, in his position.

Though perhaps grifting the money from the…individual…in the first place was not the wisest decision on his part.
