How do you spell Obstruction of Justice?

Trump.

And Robert Mueller, the most respected prosecutor in the country and the most honorable FBI director ever for a decade, plus all those top ace legal stars in his OSC who are leaders in their special areas, many of whom were directly involved in gathering the evidence on Manafort going back years, decades even with some, just suddenly all went soft in the head and flat out failed to see this coming.

Sure they did.

Trump: Of course he did. I have to know if I should pardon him or not. Manafort can lie as much as he wants. I alone will decide his fate.

So, Mueller strings Manafort along for a couple of months, knowing that he’s lying and feeding his lies back to Trump, who is having an easy time answering written questions because he is smarter than everyone else and his “ace” is telling him what to write to make their stories match…

Mueller doesn’t give a shit about Manafort. He just used the guy to get Trump in certain, provable lies. In writing.

Unaccountably, Ms. Lafond left out this bit of the NYT article:

While [Manafort’s lawyer’s] discussions with the president’s team violated no laws […]

They did all die, right.?
Killed each other while some went to prison.
Maybe this will get more exciting soon as the secret details start coming to light.

Conspiracy to obstruct justice. End of story.

What amazes me, though it probably shouldn’t, is the absolute contempt of law these rats have. Not just the law but all institutions. FatFuhrer never had to deal with the consequences of his actions. Just pay the fine, declare bankruptcy, walk away, over and over. No board of directors to tell him what to do. Laws, and now the Constitution, are just stupid inconveniences written by losers. I want to see FatFuhrer perp walked so bad. It needs to happen. He needs to not be goddamned pardoned by Pence. His rot needs to be out there for future generations to see. And his deplorable followers, who think this is all a plot Hillary cooked up, well they can just shove their MAGA hats up their asses.

They’re just not. smart. people. It would almost hurt to watch if they weren’t so deplorable.

The whole ‘joint defense agreements’ thing. I don’t see a big problem with that for Manafort, but if someone is under investigation and they do joint agreements not with co-defendants, but numerous potential witnesses. I’ve got to think that’s not a good thing. That evidences some type of obstruction.

But I never practiced criminal law.

FatFuhrer. Perfect phrasing.

I don’t understand how this was bad for Mueller. I imagine the information was only flowing in one direction: From Manafort to Mueller. It looks to me like Manafort basically just lit himself on fire.

May not be a good thing but the courts have allowed it.

Put somewhat differently, it’s their utter lack of propriety. Or recognition/agreement that propriety is something to aspire to. Or even the knowledge that most people think they ought to aspire to propriety. Turtles all the way down.

I don’t have or use Twitter, but apparently a former Assistant US Attorney when Giuliani was the most self promoting celebrity seeking US Attorney in the history of the SDNY, tweeted that Giuliani would have indicted a defense attorney who remained in a JDA while cooperating his client, for Obstruction of Justice. It is from Palmer Report, but he has a link to the former AUSA tweet.

Well put, castor_troy. It’s not like Mueller needed to lay some elaborate perjury trap to ensnare the stable genius, he just sat back and let that pig-eyed sack of shit do all the work for him.

Yup, delaying the Manafort sentencing for 10 days lulled Fat Nixon into a very false sense of security so he finally submitted his I-wrote-them-all-by-myself take home test answers under penalty of perjury.

BLOTUS is well and truly fucked and Manafort will be kicked to a cell for the rest of his natural life. If Shithead dares to issue a pardon to Paulie, there are several state AGs with their cases already made and delivered to them by Team Mueller.

What a great way to start the holiday season :santa: … ho fuckin’ ho!

First, that’s not what she said:

When I was a prosecutor working for Rudy Giuliani, if a defense lawyer representing a cooperating witness continued to participate in a joint defense agreement, he would have investigated that lawyer and others in the joint defense for obstruction of justice.

And second, the fact remains that what Downing did is legal. (Not saying it should or should not be.)

Nor has he ever, nor would he, because it would be misconduct.
