Manafort seems like a guy who fears getting a lethal dose of Putin’s special elixir “Pulonium Tea” if he Is convicted. Am I a bad person for not caring in the least?

Get this terrorist POS to trial, then to his new fed prison cell for life. What a creepy Russian agent. Maneuver this, putz.

I think he would appreciate being in protective care, far away from the man on the street. Also does not seem to be a man hanging on the idea he is really innocent and will be exonerated completely.

His fall and permanent imprisonment will be as sweet as it gets.

Thank you Jared and Ivanka who brought us Manafort and lobbied daddy to fire Comey. They are the gift that keeps on giving and, of course, with a nod to Junior who gave us the Trump Tower meeting, Where would we be without the sage advice of the Trump kids?

Mr. Manafort has been subject to negative press since the leaking of the Special Counsel’s investigation more than a year ago.

Rubbish.

He requested that U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis delay the Virginia case until after his case in D.C. wraps up.

Consecutive sentences? Sure, why not?

He is thoroughly screwed for life. The only question remaining is how many people he drags down with him.

Think about it, do you think Putin will let this guy rot in jail, becoming more and more willing to do anything to get out? I think some untraceable special sauce might be atop Paul’s prison burger. Yikes.

Disagree. His fall, permanent imprisonment, and evidence against Spankee and the Colluders will be as sweet as it gets.

Ah, the dead man walking theory, compliments of a Mr. Putin.

Perhaps, Mr. Putin being the cheeky SOB that he is, breaking one more norm, not only killing a foreign national in another country, but having them killed in a public institution of the same foreign country, is not off the list of possibilities.

Would have seem so unthinkable an election cycle ago.

“It is not a stretch to expect that voters who supported Secretary Clinton would be predisposed against Mr. Manafort or that voters who supported President Trump would be less inclined toward the Special Counsel,” the filing said.

Um, you can’t demand that a jury pool consist entirely of your political friends.

however, the recent bail revocation and his subsequent detention has exacerbated the situation,

Manafort on Friday requested that it be moved to Roanoke, an area of the state with a “more balanced” political split than Alexandria between Trump and Hillary Clinton supporters, Manafort said.

unless that trial is going to Roanoke City (Clinton won the area), Roanoke County ait even close to being more balanced.

I read through portions of these various fillings and counter filings and detected a hint of a plea strategy. Manafort is asking for Mueller’s intel evidence of various meetings as part of a discovery request. If his lawyers viewed such evidence as both incriminating and likely admissible, they would be duty bound to inform their client of that risk and suggest an alternative (e.g., a plea deal). The attempt to change the calendar also provides more room to negotiate a plea.

@khyber900, Always appreciate your insight on this stuff. I lack the expertise to read between the lines.

This is simply awesome.

I’d just be tracking the incoming prisoners where Manafort is being held for Russian names – don’t know if Putin’s going to wait for a trial.
