Discussion: Manafort Denies Trump Campaign Changed GOP Platform On Ukraine

I think we’ve reached the point where we can say where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Putin and/or other Russian interests have Trump’s tiny wang in a cigar cutter and are puppeting him about like a team of vodka-soaked Gepettos.

Why even bother to report what these people say? It’s only news when they–purely by accident–tell the truth.

Manafort’ll keep right on lying, his pension from Putin depends upon it.

So says te former political advisor to the deposed pro-Russian President of Ukraine. Manafort sometimes seems to forget that he is no longer on the Pro-Russian pay roll. Or is he no longer being paid by this crew?

Interesting that it took 2 weeks to deny this. Why no statement when the story first came out?

“I was not involved in that,” he said on ABC when asked about changes to the platform. “I’d have to take a look at it.”

I have no doubt that Rump wasn’t directly involved. I don’t think he gave two sh*ts about the platform to the point where he says that he’d have to look at it.

Too late for that now.

It’s very clear to me that either Manafort or another Rump surrogate specifically had the language changed. Why, I’m not clear on since it’s hard not to realize that this issue would be radioactive from the jump. Now that its blown up in their faces, apparently NO ONE’s taking credit for it. Although I’m pretty sure Rinse My Prius didn’t want the change, at this point, he looks like a spineless weasel for allowing “someone” to bully him into making the changes.

Using my amazing powers of knowing the future, please enjoy this transcript from later in this news cycle when irrefutable proof of involvement comes out.

MANAFORT: When I said that no one in the campaign was involved in changing the platform, I meant that several people were involved. No one individual. The media has obviously twisted my words to further their own agenda.

It wasn’t us you losers! It was some other candidate named Trump!

And Chuck Todd nods in agreement.

24 hours from now:

“Oh, THAT campaign platform plank!! I thought you were talking about some OTHER campaign platform plank! Sure, we might have had input on that. But not much. Hardly any actually. None at all probably. Just a bit. Radical Islam!!”

I’ve heard people say that Manafort has a luxury dacha on the Black Sea coast in Crimea. Now, moi, I can’t really say that he does, but, you know, other people are saying that. But if he does have a luxury dacha on the Black Sea coast in Crimea – not that I am saying he does, but I’ve heard other people say it – he’s gonna want to keep the Russians happy, so that the caviar keeps rolling in.

I’m getting nauseous from all the spinning coming from the Donnie Drumpf campaign…

That was the one plank of the platform that Demagogue Don the Con’s team change wanted. Mendacious Manafort is the same guy who said that Mrs. DD the C didn’t plagiarize her speech. UFB

“Manafort denied Sunday a two-week-old report that the campaign pushed for changes in the Republican platform that softened the party’s stance on helping Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression.”

Manafort then accused Todd of being “a lackey for American imperialism”, pounded his shoe on the desk, and bellowed, “We will bury the West!”

Until they pay a price for their continual lying, the Trump campaign will not change their course. Of course Manafort is lying. He’s the campaign manager for a serial liar.

Well according to today’s story in the NYT Manafort IS still on the Russian pay role. The whole article is very good, very detailed. But this is the most relevant information: “It is not clear that Mr. Manafort’s work in Ukraine ended with his work with Mr. Trump’s campaign. A communications aide for Mr. Lyovochkin, who financed Mr. Manafort’s work, declined to say whether he was still on retainer or how much he had been paid.” http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/01/us/paul-manafort-ukraine-donald-trump.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=a-lede-package-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news

These kinds of revelations seem to take a while to sink in. But evidently Trump’s campaign manager is actively working for this country’s major adversary. Do you think maybe Manafort could be asked about that little tidbit in his next interview? (Not that his words mean anything–he straight-facedly lied for 2 days straight about Melania’s plagiarism and then the next day lied that Trump’s claim about not supporting NATO was misquoted.)

I can believe Trump doesn’t know where Russia ends and Ukraine begins, but Manafort certainly knows better. Especially as he was a key advisor to Ukraine’s former pro-Russian President.

Does anyone know if he’s still getting paid by his lobbying firm?
