Yeah, that’s really gonna work, Pauly…
Way to go, Paul.
Leave no poo unflung.
Shorter Manafort: I have always been a crook.
I wonder exactly how important Manafort is to Mueller now that Gates has flipped and provided substantial information. No doubt Manafort could provide additional supporting information -even information he alone has -but how crucial it is to Mueller at this point, I don’t know.
Perhaps Manafort is fighting so aggressively because he doesn’t have a good deal on the table. Just speculating. It could be he’s afraid of the ruthless oligarchs.
Straws! I need straws!
This is all to create possible bases of appeal after conviction. If he doesn’t raise them now, hard or impossible to raise them after a conviction.
It’s almost impossible to get evidence thrown out nowadays on constitutional grounds unless it’s egregious.
There must have been be really good stuff in that storage unit if he’s panicking this hard. Sounds like the FBI followed procedure to the letter on this one.
Yeah I agree. You either preserve error or you’re fucked, can’t raise it on appeal.

He can’t plead guilty, because the Ruskies will think he is going to talk and he will get a dose of Polonium or VX. He has to fight, and straws are all he has.
And had a key to the unit.
Manfort is a target for indictment, not flipping now. There are no deals for him unless he does something that Putin has now told him will get his daughters killed.
Wouldn’t that be some shit – if he died in some mysterious way that could only be the Russkies doing?
Reception overruled! Motion to move the line of scrimmage forward denied!
This will result in the best episode of Storage Wars ever.
Or straw ungrasped.
Jesus, permission was given for the preliminary look that created probable cause for issuance of a warrant by someone whose name was on the lease as an occupant. And then, of of course, there’s his little inevitable discovery problem.
Whatever was in his big secret storage unit of documents which only Paul Manafort personally had permission to enter must be pretty terrible for him.
One of the sources of the"amazed but unsurprised" which is our normal state these days is the rolling series of new revelations about how much worse a bad guy Manafort was than you had heretofore thought.
