The only thing worse than a traitor is a nouveau riche traitor.

The involvement of banks in Cyprus could implicate Wilbur Ross – who was a Director in the Bank of Cyprus – in the rigging of the 2016 election.

Ok, so are they rugs that can be laundered?

An item to use to blunt the claims of how little Trump knew Manafort before the campaign:

Graph from the article (Emphasis is mine):

The depth of their relationship pre-2016 isn’t well known, but it’s clear Trump and Manafort have been operating in close circles for decades. In 1980, Manafort, Charles Black and Roger Stone (all Ronald Reagan campaign officials) opened a lobbying shop in Washington, D.C. One of their very first clients: Donald Trump, who employed the lobbying firm of Black, Manafort & Stone through the early 1990s.

“…more than $1 million on antique rugs…”

He clearly is a terrible investor if any of that went to the one on Donald’s head.

No Trump suits or ties? He’s getting thrown under the bus now.
When you look at these foreign accounts it’s exhibit A why we need a fully staffed and effective IRS. I saw a couple of weeks ago that the incoming IRS commissioner will be focusing more on folks who take the EITC than tax shelters. It shows where their priorities are.
For every dollar spent on enforcement four dollars in revenue are generated. A functional government would recognize this.

The overseas accounts were forced on Manafort by the onerous taxes on corps in the US.

Reduce crime; support the Trumpp tax cuts!

-I wonder what expensive cologne he’ll be wearing down in cellblock D? It’ll have to be damn good to cover up the odors of all those sweaty mens.

I saw those numbers and figured the rugs and men’s clothing purchases were actually more money laundering. I mean, no one could spend that much on such things, right?

Manafort and Trump. Birds of a feather.

Are these bogus expenditures that are supposed to hide other illegalities?

Manafort spent $500 A DAY on clothes with money he didn’t pay taxes on. He spent the same amount on lawn care.

I worked all my life to save what this guy spent on clothes and lawn care for one year. He never did one good thing for the American people, ever. All those contacts, all that power, just to help dictators murder their citizens.

If that isn’t the most murderous section of the swamp, what is?

Accounts associated with Manafort also made 34 transfers to an unnamed New York clothing store totaling nearly $850,000, and nine transfers to a Beverly Hills clothing store totaling $520,440.

Judging from the photo, he wasn’t spending that on himself.

No. But he bought a condo in Trump Tower for cash through an LLC, then transferred the title into his name and took out a multi-million dollar loan on it. Classic money laundering. You know, the types of deals the Daycare Dotard’s company is well-versed.
