Good Lord that really helped.
Yup…tyranny in the US is becoming more and more probable as congress does nothing to oversee and enforce the rule of law with Trump and his organized crime syndicate. The country is nearing a tipping point and apparently McConnell and Ryan don’t care. Trump brings out the worst in everyone.
Mitch is cravenly buddying up with trump now to ram as many right wing judges on the bench and get Kavanaugh on SCOTUS ASAP.
Among the many other things that irritate me about that is Mitch is old enough that he won’t live long enough to have to deal with it, the younger generations will. Same goes for all right wing elderly Fox News zombies who’s main reason for voting is SCOTUS.
Indeed - this From NYT last week
Trump has divided the country, and family, friends and workplaces…the partisan rancor has affected us all…
Really interesting story from the Times…
Supporters of President Trump at a rally in Lewis Center, Ohio, this month. Partisan identification is now a bigger wedge between Americans than race, gender or religion.Credit
While his case and the resulting backlash were extreme, Mr. Storey, 34, instigated the kind of zero-sum political confrontation that breaks out every day all across the country as politics seeps into and disrupts everyday life. To a degree that is unique to this period and this president, disputes over politics have divided Americans’ homes, strained marriages, ruined friendships and invaded the workplace.
A couple in Georgia, married two decades, won’t speak when the husband leaves his unwashed mug supporting President Trump in the sink; his wife refuses to touch it. A teenager eating at a Texas fast food restaurant had his “Make America Great Again” hat ripped off his head and a drink thrown in his face. A mother in New England sought the help of professional conflict mediators during the holidays because her two daughters — one who was pro-Trump, the other anti-Trump — had stopped speaking to each other.

Key denied the charges and invoked his right to remain silent.
Not sure how long he’ll actually remain silent:
Authorities say Key had contacted Mast’s office 478 times before.
Authorities say Key had contacted Mast’s office 478 times before.
Dedication.
Faith without works.
Hmm I wonder how many townhalls has Rep. Mast held?
And this is why supporters of my Republican Representative say she won’t hold townhalls, never mind the fact that she has never in her 6 years held an in person townhall.
Key had contacted Mast’s office 478 times before.
Guess he finally got his attention.
Slightly OT, but isn’t Brian Mast putatively the mystery congressional candidate mentioned in the Mueller’s indictment of the 12 Russian military intelligence officers?
Key screwed up by not announcing his presidential candidacy before threatening to destroy the lives of people he doesn’t care for
“Rip off the wrong people and they send you to jail
Rip off the right people and they say you show initiative”
I lived in Issa’s district when he first took office in 2003 until I moved in 2015, so 12 years. In that time he held exactly one town hall (in public vs on the phone during dinner, no warning). That one time was at the height of the Tea Party and resembled a Tea Party victory celebration as much as anything. He brought lots and lots of security - personal plus local LEOs. Such a guy.
He’s in the group. The Miami Herald links to a WSJ article that is behind a pay wall.
“A 2017 report by the Wall Street Journal highlighted that Florida GOP operative Aaron Nevins was in contact with the Guccifer hackers, and that a campaign consultant for Republican congressional candidate Brian Mast adjusted voter targets based on the stolen information. Mast’s campaign manager said to TCPalm on Friday that the campaign did not use stolen data. Curbelo’s campaign also said it did not use stolen data.”
Maybe, but look at it this way: Mast has asked the SCO to reveal the name of the “mystery congressional candidate,” whereas Ron DeSantis has sought to end the investigation and, with the same object in mind, Matt Gaetz has tried to impeach Rosenstein.
Mast is my congressman. He is a conservative but he isn’t a bad congressman. He works hard for his constituents.
Authorities say Key had contacted Mast’s office 478 times before.
“We were shocked and surprised by this latest incident. Key had always seemed so rational and grounded until now. There were no indications that he might be unhinged.”
OT
Why are we not surprised? Rooskies got them some grade A dirt on Randy?
Between rounds of golf in NJ today the moronic occupant is threatening the free press with something or other over their unfair treatment of right wing nuts and calling MSNBC and CNN “Sick.” He’d know. There’s a bunch of tweets about it. Full of the usual yada yada.
