Discussion: Man Charged With Assault For Sucker-Punching Black Protester At Trump Rally

Gavrilo Princip. Yes, he was caught at the scene after trying to kill himself with cyanide and then failing that, trying to shoot himself with a pistol.

I agree. Its not just that they handcuffed the victim, but they literally ignored the guy who threw the punch, immediately grabbing the victim and dragging him up the stairs to handcuff him.

I heard the same nonsense with Oregon. Yes, this a-hole will be prosecuted. Can you tell me for what reason they would drop the charges? This was not some shoving match. This guy not only punched him, but sucker punched him.

Yes, he will be charged.

Your typical Trump supporter?

Inside Edition tracked down McGraw after the rally and asked him if he liked the rally. “You bet I liked it. Knocking the hell out of that big mouth," McGraw said.

Asked why he punched the protester, McGraw told Inside Edition, “Number one, we don’t know if he’s ISIS.”

“We don’t know who he is, but we know he’s not acting like an American,” McGraw went on. “The next time we see him, we might have to kill him.”

The victim was not arrested, the guy who threw the punch was arrested.

He was not handcuffed. He is quoted in the article as saying he was not handcuffed.

Completely false. Candidates get SS protection, and they can in fact decide who attends rallies and make the rules at those rallies. Obviously those rules have to be legal, you are not allowed to punch protesters.

No it’s not. That’s absurd. So the SS guys for Sanders are endorsing him? No. They are doing their job.

Angry white men on the right angry white men on the left Trump Sanders whats up with that?

Josh and the other guy at the Editor’s Blog think it’s “protestor” but spell check disagrees, as does Caitlin Cruz. (OMG, have you considered changing your name?)

this.

Here, here!..all that comes to mind is the prophetic words of James Baldwin in “The Fire Next Time”…for the MSM to now be catching up to this dTrumpf madness of “take our country back” is tragic.

Many people live near enough to a dental school to get cheap and sometimes free dental care.

He should be punished to the maximum extent allowed by law.

The purpose of punishment is two-fold - Specific Deterrent and General Deterrent. I suspect he already has experienced enough of the legal system that he will not be likely to commit such a cowardly violent crime again. But what is needed here by the court, and hopefully the judge see it as a matter of public policy, is a general deterrent; one that warns all that attend a Drumpf rally that if you attack a protester, you will be seen, prosecuted, fined and spend months if not over a year in a prison cell.

with the demographic changes they worry they will be treated the same way they treated minorities.

It was not suggested that he’d been arrested at the rally. Apparently he hasn’t been arrested at all. He could have been summonsed. Various states permit that at various levels of misdemeanor. He could have an attorney who’s arranged for his surrender, and so forth.

Frankly, McGraw should be charged with a hate crime. That would convert the misdemeanor into a felony.

Are you joking?! Did you see the way that young black man unexpectedly threw his face viciously against Mr. McGraw’s fist? It’s a good think it didn’t break his fist, otherwise Mr. Jones would be in serious trouble and the Sheriff’s Office would have to throw him to the ground just to keep him from using his testicles to break McGraw’s foot.

The racists are gone. No less an authority than Chief Justice Roberts told us so.

Yes – it’s easier to create and marginalize the poor when you make racism fashionable again. 20 years ago my Rush lovin’ bro-in-law wouldn’t have used the N word around me. Now he feel free – as in, righteous.
