If I’m reading the piece correctly, the rape charge was added solely for the purpose of making him eligible for the death penalty, even though there’s no indication from the linked Courier story that he did rape her. Not that I would be the first person protesting outside the prison as they pulled the switch on this guy, but can they do that?

This is where I think the death penalty needs to be brought in.
Not for punishment, not for revenge, but just some people do not need to be walking around murdering and eating other people.
