What a gorgeous and fabulous kid. Congratulations to her and her family.
Congratulations to the graduate, and her parents!
Congratulations!
Makes me think of how fast these last 8 years have gone by.
Malia! in 2048!!
This week couldn’t have a better capstone than Trump tweeting something crude and thoroughly classless about Malia and her graduation.
As someone on Twtitter noted, the first black president’s daughter’s first vote will be for the first woman president.
What a wonderful family! I’m going to miss them, and especially seeing them represent our country overseas. Just wanted to mention that everybody seems to forget Amy Carter, who was only seven or eight - around Sasha’s age in 2009 - when the Carters entered the White House.
Wish her well. A credit to her parents, as is her sister. In private and public life the First Family has set a great example.
She was 8 (born in Oct '67), and 13 when they left.
Whew, that’s a relief! (Shouldn’t the headline have added 'Today?"
Sasha and Malia literally grew up in front of our eyes - Sasha was, what, 7 when Obama was inaugurated? Malia was always taller than her sister but she shot up like a weed and everyone blinked, and she was suddenly taller than her (already fairly tall) mother.
It just seems like it happened so fast. Then again, I got a stepdaughter who’s only slightly older than Malia who’s in college now, and a son headed to the 4th grade who was still a toddler back in 2008.
Congratulations to the Obama family - this article has me so reflective, because the Obama girls are almost exactly the same age as my two boys. My oldest will be 18 on July 8 and graduated last week… my youngest will be a sophomore and is about two months older than Sasha. What a great set of role models this family is.
I do wish the Secret Service would’ve taught my oldest to drive… that was a bit stressful.
Congratulations Malia! In other news:
Oh yeaaah…
I don’t blame Malia for taking a year off. If she went this fall she’d be the President’s daughter. If she waits a year she’ll be the former President’s daughter with much more less media attention.
