Ivanka Trump is a low life in high heels!

“The American clients push down the price,” Song explained. “Consumers want to buy cheaper shoes.”

Methinks there is something standing between “consumers” and “cheaper.”

Ivanka profits from slave drivers and slave like workers. What a bitch.

"She has not commented, however, on the detentions or the reports of poor working conditions at one of her brand’s suppliers."

She’s too busy traveling around looking designer-y and nabbing more trademarks. ‘Staying out of politics’ is a full time job.

When I read such things, I still can’t believe we elected this family (which is, in fact, what happened when people voted for Trump).

I’m with you on the disbelief, but I don’t agree that donnie was really elected. He ‘obtained’ the presidency….different thing, and the very reason it is so damn tragic.

She already knew the conditions and the low pay rates, that’s why she’s using them in the first place.

First Boycott all things Trumpp, then do your best to buy American and stay the fudge out of walmart.

Hey Vank. Here’s your chance to stand up for working women - and maybe even “human trafficking”!

…nah… I didn’t think so either…

The day will come, maybe not soon enough, but it will come.

Daddy was doing his part of the Vietnam war effort by avoiding STD’s during this era, what a hero.

My fellow PRIMERs may already know this, but the reason the right-wing (and mostly the GOP leadership) hates “globalization” and the idea of “one world order” is because it eliminates the “flight of capital”. If there were global labor laws, global treaties that protected workers/wages, capital would have nowhere to go. In this case, the production is moving to Ethiopia, because even Chinese workers won’t work that cheaply. Ivanka is a monster, just like her dad:

Huajian, meanwhile, has been moving production to Ethiopia, where workers make around $100 a month, a fraction of what they pay in China, according to Song Yiping, a manager at Huajian’s Ethiopian factory, who spoke to the AP in January. He said he’s heard President Trump talk about bringing jobs back to America, but he doubts that will happen with shoes. Even Chinese vocational school dropouts don’t want to work for Ethiopian wages.

Let’s do some math, shall we?

26 work days per month if the workers are only permitted a single day off per week
30,000 pairs of shoes per month = 1,154 per work day
50 workers producing 1,154 pairs per day = 23 pairs per day per person

Now, let’s see how that plays out in America

23 pairs of shoes per day with only an 8 hour work day may be more like 20 pairs per day per worker
20 pairs per day = 100 pairs per week per worker
If worker is paid $10/hour plus let’s say $3/hour for benefits (industry avg. is 22% overhead per worker, including taxes, benefits, etc.) that’s $13/hour vs. maybe $1.50 hour for Chinese workers (yes, you certainly should be disgusted!)

American worker costs $520/week vs. ~$60/week in China = $460 per week difference to produce 100 pairs of shoes

If Americans were willing to pay $4.60 more for a pair of shoes, how many people would be willing to take a $10/hour job that included benefits?

Bump that up to $15/hour job + benefits in the US, the cost for that pair of shoes goes up by $7.20 per pair.

Now I’m not including import taxes, the costs to transport these shoes to the US and within the US but anyone willing to pay $150/pair of shoes with the Ivanka name sure as shit should be willing and able to pay $157.20 for that same pair of f’ugly shoes!

Just sayin’…
