Somebody is bracing his flock for a test of faith.
Probably one of the most egregious examples of journalisitc dishonesty in recent memory is their reporting Trump stated he intended to pull U.S. troops out of Syria in very short order, because ISIS had been defeated.
Individual-1 demanding “honesty”??? I had to check the calendar to verify today isn’t April 1.
Words fail.
Flailing about
Behold Trump’s genius at controlling the national conversation and changing the subject. Won’t be one story on the shutdown for the whole rest of the week, probably. But seriously, folks, I remember as a kid reading about the boy who cried wolf and being very impressed by the ring of truth it had. Constant liars are eventually regarded as constant liars. You can’t rule as an authoritarian and deny reality without the threat of violence against dissidents, and we’re not there yet and we don’t look to arrive there any time soon. To me, who’s certainly a high-strung person, this just looks pathetic.
If Little Donnie says it, the opposite is true. Ergo, the press is telling it like it is.
Exactly.
The more honest the Press becomes the worst Trump looks.
Shorter Bear-Market Benedict Donald:
"My Administration is a perpetual-motion-machine of chaos, churn & corruption.
JUST DON’T TELL ANYONE we create chaos, churn & corruption. Or whatever small kernel of competence we may possess we’ll devote to punishing you."
“I’m robbing the country blind. I’m stealing flies from blind spiders. I’m robbing nums of the donation plate money, but why are you all mad at me? The economy is so great, people are working. Why is everyone upset? Where’s the love?”
From Trump’s POV, success and material gain overrides morality. But we all knew that. He thinks the rest of us should believe that too.
He’s good at what he does…but McConnell is still protecting him in a very quiet manner.
It’s a Tag Team
Drumpf keeps the Base
McConnell packs the Courts
There is nothing else going on here.
And his 7500 lies to date, according to WaPo.
Your leaving office would help a lot!
This coming from someone whose Chief of Staff was cornered into saying his boss was pulling stuff out his ass, just this weekend.

The first thing that authoritarians try to do is bring the sources of information under their control. That is why the very first item taken up in the Bill of Rights is to prohibit the government from interfering with the freedom of the press.
The single most influential event on European history was the invention of the printing press in 1453. From it followed the Protestant Reformation, Erasmian Humanism, and the Enlightenment, all made possible by the printed page.
Trump thinks he can subvert the free press with his twitter account and with his mendacious myrmidons like Sarah Sanders and Kellyanne Conway, but as someone well versed in letters once said, “at the length truth will out”.
“With all of the success that our Country is having, including the just released jobs numbers which are off the charts…”
Pssst. Hey, buddy, c’mere. The December only jobs numbers were high, and within the range seen for the past 5 years at least. Unemployment actually increased as those who gave up looking for a job entered the job search market again (you remember those guys you included in your campaign stats- the nonseekers, students, military, seniors, prisoners, etc.?)
He should lead the way. That’s what leaders do - lead by example.
He won’t, but until he does, he can expect exactly what he has. Nothing more, nothing less.
My, he’s pretty bored today, isn’t he? Doesn’t have anything to do? He could visit some furloughed workers, since I’m sure they’re stoked about Wall replacing their paychecks and would welcome him with open arms. Anyone see that graphic in NYT of the states with the most affected workers? Other than D.C. it’s all red states.
and throw them rolls of paper towels…
