Discussion: Make America Grimm Again? Ex-Con Could Cost The GOP A Safe NYC House Seat

Could Trump-fueled infighting cost New York City Republicans lose their only seat in Congress?

I’m sure there are many in Staten Island who would be happy to be represented in Congress by a convicted felon. Can Grimm even vote for himself, or was he given the franchise back by Cuomo? The people in any Congressional district really deserve whoever they get, frankly.

Why is Trump endorsing Donovan? Ex-felon Grimm is more Trump’s type of guy. Trump will, one can hope, soon be in prison, after all.

Seriously, why the hell do we even allow convicted criminals to be eligible for elected office? Seems a little more important to me than whether they’ve been a citizen for six years or eight.

When Grimm tells someone he’s going to ā€œbreak you like a boy,ā€ everybody has to wonder what Grimm does with boys.

I thought felons couldn’t vote (per current laws), and much less run for office. How is can he?

Make America Grimm Again?

I don’t understand that headline. How could it be Grimm if chances are better we will win that seat?

O’Brien, the former GOP strategist

The Republican Party has jumped off the cliff in a very enthusiastic display of suicide over the last year or two

I’d guess that’s why he’s ā€œformer.ā€

Dunno, I’m confused on this also.

But we do have a two bit thug who has committed everything short of murder (as far as we know) acting as President so who can say.

We live in interesting times.

ā€œThe Grimm campaign claims Trump was hoodwinked into supporting Donovan.ā€

This seems to happen a lot (WV senate race, Roy Moore), and it’s kind of a tacit admission that PP is indeed an idiot who is often fooled into backing the wrong candidate.

Should have googled it. Here’s the answer:https://www.factcheck.org/2008/11/felons-in-office/

I hope they break each other in half like little boys.

Let’s see…a violent, unethical tax felon seeking office as a Republican. Oh yeah, they’ll definitely lap up Grimm’s fairy tales.

Another small government conservative going to great lengths to get back onto the public dole.

Everything Trump touches, dies.

It’s my understanding that once convicted felons (having served their sentences) can vote and run for office depending upon the laws of the individual states. Don’t know NY but it is the case in CT. Example: Joe Ganim (D) became Bridgeport mayor and is now running in the D primary for governor.

Of course Whiny loves Grimm in private. He only wishes the convicted felon hadn’t already served his sentence so he could pardon him.

And since he’s been in prison, he has probably picked up some new ā€˜tricks’ of the ā€˜trade.’

SI is full of aggrieved white, ethnically tribal Deplorables. So Grimm has a great shot at winning the seat again.
