Just askin a question not suggesting anything shady is going on
Do I think Trump is talking to dissatisfied prominent Democrats? Nope. Partly because Donald Trump isnāt smart enough to do that and partly because I know of no dissatisfied prominent Democrats. There are a few dissatisfied Sanders supporters, but they arenāt prominent Democrats, and they would never think of supporting Trump.
As everyone knows, Hillary Clinton can be counted on by patriots to be a steady, rational commander in chief.
Now, you donāt think Donald Trump is going to leave the presidential race and try out as quarterback for the Boston Patriots, do you? Heās be appealing to their concerns and substantive discussions about a desire for a real team leader? Well, it COULD happen!
Do you seriously think a dissatisfied āDemocratā whose solution to their dissatisfaction was to turn to Donald Trump can hear anything that has any basis in reality that will change their mind?
How do you propose Hillary reaches out to the people whose response to Sanders and Warren endorsing Hillary, and accurately pointing out that she is leading with the most liberal platform by any candidate in recent history, was to say they sold out?
Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistakeā¦
I agree
"Hereās the deal, Meg. I wonāt crash the economy or start a nuclear war, like my opponent would, but you will pay a tiny bit more on your taxes.
Deal?"
āI think Hillary will give us results. Ladies know how to get things done without all the alpha male ego bullshit.ā
you seem to be forgetting that Pres. Obama attempted to work with the republicans in congress, at the beginning of his first term. it was the republicans, who had vowed to obstruct Obama at every turn, who refused his efforts at bi-partisan legislating. the only āalpha male ego bullshitā involved was that of the republicans, certainly not Pres. Obamaās.
having said that, if HRC doesnāt get a D congress, sheās going to run into a similar problem, republican obstruction. now, it is conceivable that this could work against the GOP, in the 2018 mid-terms, if the majority of the country finally gets tired of 10 years of a republican do-nothing congress, and votes in a democratic majority, in both houses. maybe.
I donāt think she has to. The mere possibility of Donnie landing in the WH is enough. Thatās the beauty of it.
Realize itās not just āthe crazyā thatās got these people worried. The crazy doesnāt even lead to pro-GOP policies, so thereās no reason to risk it.
Money, money. Public endorsement is nice, and it will encourage other GOPāers to back away from the dumpster fire. But money buys Clinton staff and Clinton ads.
The part of me that is terrified of life under the American Putin applauds this development. My inner Bernie supporter says: āYou see? This is EXACTLY what Iām talking about!ā Yes, sheāll be shaking down her donor networks for cash for HRC, but thereās a reason those donors have been contributing through her to the GOP, and they donāt do it because they like having their very special needs and desires ignored or contradicted by the people whose campaigns they helped pay for. Sigh. But we do what we must.
i think it was snark
Well maybe not as bad I mean she going in knowing how difficult they are to work with
Every bit helps and every GOP bit erodes Donnie.
AND strengthens the operations for down ticket races.
Meg Whitman the governor candidate that employed cheap domestic labor knowing they were in the country illegally leading to her getting her fat but handed to her in the election? Or the Meg Whitman who drove HP into the shitterā¦im confusedā¦
Its a good thing when prominent republicans support Hillary. We need everyone to pull together now ā country before party. This support may give them a seat at the table ā and why should they not expect some consideration? However, when they inevitably find they do not support some if not all of HRC actual policies - which they are free to criticize ā by joining with her, they can no longer credibly resort to outrageous personal smears. Its a good development to have Whitman (and others) on board and and if we prevail, it may foretell more civil politics in the future. At least we can hope.
You sir, have won the intertubes for today. You may do with them what you wish.
Completely agree - the is a BFD. She is a respected Rep leader and along with Romney, ran tough races against Dems, and is very influential, within the group. Unlike other Reps, she is actually putting country before party, which speaks directly to her character. I appauld her actions - and hope that her friends take notice.
