So what is the current status for these 51 or so laws? It sounds like they have been proclaimed to be laws - and that LePage is now in the position of having to seek an opinion from the Maine Supreme Court. So is LePage just about check-mated in this situation?

I don’t know if he’s check-mated. I suppose the Supreme Court could rule in his favor. As for the bills he bungled, according to the BDN: “Eves and Thibodeau, among others, argue that LePage let a 10-day deadline to veto bills lapse, sending 71 bills into law without his signature. The legislature’s revisor of statutes agrees and started the process of chaptering the bills into law last week.”

Too bad one of those bills wasn’t one of the five the legislature passed to expand Medicaid. That would have been epic.

I used to like and even think about moving to Maine but now, I realize it’s a shithole run by idiots who only love and spew hate. If this breathing turd got elected, there is no chance I’ll move into his proven hell - I won’t move to an existing Steven King novel’s town. Danny Glick scares me as do the “people” who installed this monster.

60% of the voters voted against LePage. Sure, they shouldn’t have split their votes between two candidates, but this guy has benefited enormously from infighting among the nominally sane politicians in Maine.
