Wasn’t The Great Wall of China mainly built as a future tourist attraction for foreigners? Who doesn’t visit the great wall when they go to China on holiday?

Don’t disagree with anything you said, but a quick correction on Social Security math. We collect $500-600 billion in payroll taxes every year, of which about $15 billion may come from undocumented workers. So they pay about 3% of social security taxes. The Trust fund reserves are the way we account for surplus taxes above our needs for benefit payments. It doesn’t make much sense to compare cumulative taxes paid to the size of the trust fund reserves.

Only a million or so died building the Great Wall and it took centuries. Why not replicate it in the US?
And eating it isn’t even the worst part. It stank up our back hall as it was soaking for three days before holidays. Made you want to stay at school just to avoid coming home and facing the stench.
Ahhhh…the right-wing pundits and politicians, all wishing that we could be governed like a communist country, or by a dictator where the Great Leader speaks, and his will shall be done. Cursed democracy! If only we could go back to the days of W, when rules didn’t matter, and the Great Leader could do whatever we wanted him to do. Responsible governing is too timid. We want EXTREME government leadership!!!
