It’s time for LePage to be impeached. This is getting stupid.
Hereinafter known as Governor LeFail.
If there was ever a case for ousting LePage from office, his sheer incompetence in this matter should be exhibit one.
Hey, that’s future President Trump’s veep you’re talking about, there!
…buh buh buh…
without incompetence what would attract voters to Gov LePetomaine ?
Maybe he can take it to another state supreme court…say like Alabama’s since his attitude is “I won’t take no for an answer and will find a court somewhere to take my side”…colossal idiot. Are there any decent republican governors anywhere?
As entertaining as this is for the rest of us, I feel sorry for the citizens of Maine. It’s bad enough that they’ve got the most dysfunctional government, without their governor attempting to wrestle the #1 laughingstock award away from the Arkansas Supreme Court.
Future President Christie’s, too!
OMG! That photo is HILLARIOUS!!! “I’m sorry. I didn’t catch that.”
Brian Sandoval is rumored to be fairly intelligent.
Typical Teabagger response - to double down on your own stupidity.
When everybody is against you, you may just be wrong. It looks like there are Republicans involved against him too. So it is hardly a witch hunt. The Tea Baggers are pretty stand offish in every way.
This is a situation that has from the beginning until jest recently been completely under the control of LePage. He can squawk all he wants about “Democrats” but those bills were under his control once the Democrats handed them over to him. No Democrat made him delay a veto that he could have done the moment he got the bills. LePage did that. No Democrat forced the Governor to take this route which placed his desires in jeopardy.
LePage did not actively veto the bills. He played a parliamentary game with them and did that poorly. How are Democrats “acting out of political expediency” when this was a one man show starring LePage?
LePage is an asshole. He did and is now doing what assholes do. Perhaps Maine can find a way to elect him again.
One more proof that Republicans are just too dumb to ever be in positions of power. A governor with two operating brain cells would have consulted the state attorney general in advance before trying such a stupid trick.
I love it when people who think they are being clever are out maneuvered by people who actually are.
Can feel sorry for individuals - but collectively Maine owns this buffoon - they reelected him!
I think any sensible Governor would have vetoed the bills when they arrived on his desk. If that’s what he wanted…the bills vetoed…he would have done that. Now…if he did not want that…but did not want his name associated with consent…he might pull this trick. He doesn’t suffer a batch of veto overrides making him look powerless and he can keep a straight face when he says he opposed the bills. This is the only way the bills become law and LePage claims he had nothing to do with it.
Of course his advisers told him this would not work. It’s certain many folks advised him on an approaching deadline for veto. That had to happen. But he did this…and I think he wanted exactly the scenario he got. Why…“political expediency”…and someone somewhere told him he could milk this mess and come out of it with something.
LePage is a stupid GOP bully. Maybe he should be Trump’s running mate.
