My problem with the apology is, “only to reflect my view that the Second Amendment was not a prevailing factor in this election”. The view of the Second Amendment should not be a “prevailing factor” or really any factor in the results of any election.

I mean well discussing gun safety, nobody has ever suggested banning guns or taking most guns away from anyone. Rather there are basically two issues in the gun safety debate.

  1. What guns are for sports like hunting rifles, what guns are for personal protection like handguns and what guns are for killing like assault/semi automatic/automatic guns. This includes issues like modifications to guns or the amount of ammunition before needing to reload.

  2. Who should be able to buy a gun, what background check is required and should there be a waiting period.

But the NRA convinces its members that one any sensible discussion on gun safety is an attempt to take all guns away from everyone and turn America into a lawless dictatorship whereby people of color with Government support will break into our homes and rape every White woman between 8 and 80. The NRA’s position on guns has been absorbed by the Republican party to get other than economic voters to support policies that result in mass shootings and shift wealth away from these voters to Donald Trump.

I followed the trials of the cretin who murdered her son. He’s locked up forever, now, and I was glad to see it.

Rep. McBath has not had an easy life. From wiki:

McBath lives in Marietta, Georgia. She has survived two bouts of breast cancer. She is married to Curtis McBath. In addition to her son Jordan, who was murdered in 2012, she had a son who died in 1993.

We all know life isn’t fair, but jeez.
