ā€œIn Louisiana, we love to welcome visitors, but we must balance that hospitality with the protection of Louisiana residents and other visitors,ā€

In Louisiana, we love to welcome visitors, but we must balance that hospitality with the needs of the GOPers/Teatrolls in control of the state to manufacture as much perceived reason for panic as possible something something did we mention the POTUS is blah?

And if the researchers do go to Louisiana, then what? In what way is this letter legally binding? How the hell is the state going to even know?

This is just puffery and posturing for the fear-addled teabagger Fox News sheeple.

I just read the linked Bloomberg article. One of the virologists affected is on staff at Tulane Medical School in New Orleans. He said heā€™s going to attend anyway. Piyush may have started something he canā€™t finish. Does anyone really think that doctors are going to roll over?

Tropical diseases thrive in warm, wet, rural conditions that often have poor sanitation, said Robert Garry, a virologist at Tulane University in New Orleans. Ebola is considered a tropical disease, said Garry, who said he received the letter and may attend the meeting.

ā€œWe want people to be able to come back from these regions and discuss and share what theyā€™ve learned,ā€ Garry said in a telephone interview. ā€œThatā€™s what these meetings are all about.ā€

Iā€™m not a health care worker and Iā€™ve never even been around anyone with Ebola, and Iā€™ll never go to Louisiana.

Why? Because inbred, ignorant fucking southern hillbillies, thatā€™s why.

That was my first thought. My second thought was that this is a free country.

when Jindal said they shouldnā€™t be the party of stupidā€¦ clearly stupid must have different meaning in Louisianaā€¦

and how did that we donā€™t need no gummint advice work out in Texas?

Well, dare we hope (horribly enough) that a case occurs in Louisiana and there is no one there to treat it? Then Jindal will be railing against the CDC for not having people on the ground ā€¦

The NYT has an article on its website claiming that Obama has so many ā€˜crisesā€™ he just canā€™t ā€˜cope.ā€™

Unbelievable, no? Heā€™s one of the coolest headed presidents ever and they act like heā€™s a hysteric? How totally non-reality based the news has become.

On Ebola, Obama has been spot on, sending personnel to the source to damp it down (Liberian cases are now dropping off) and not acting like a chicken with his head cut off over it.

The sad thing is these Chicken Littles will all claim victory when Ebola-in-America becomes the non-event itā€™s destined to be.

Canā€™t have Scientists and Researchers!! After all, it wasnā€™t them who helped ebola survivors ā€“ it was really Jesus.

'Cause rejecting outside experts worked out so well with Katrina and Medicare expansion.

Jesus. What is wrong with these people.

If Ebola were to wipe out Louisiana, nothing of value will have been lost.

Time for all healthcare professionals to find another locale for conferences, conventions, seminars, etc.

There are some great people in Louisiana, itā€™s just that they seem to be in the minority.

They can have their meeting at my house. I will cook for all of them and find them rooms to sleep in.
