Good grief, What a dumb comparison. It’s so off the mark, unneccessary, inflammatory and offensive.
One being no one is threatening the members with being shot or killed if they leave.
Plus the pesky fact that the legislative body has a right to vote, unlike people that were…ya know, actual plantation slaves.

Apparently Mr Cassidy does not understand how the Senate operates. Somebody should get him a copy of the Senate rules of procedure.
The Senate Majority Leader decides what legislation is brought to the floor. The Majority Leader is chosen from the majority party in the Senate as the name implies. One would think a sitting Senator could figure this out. Cassidy’s miffed it’s not a republican in charge like in the House.

If you think Boehner runs the House, you are sadly mistaken. The House is run by the Tea Party Caucus and the Shadow Speaker, Ted Cruz. If the Senate is run like a plantation, the House is run like an insane asylum – one with the inmates in charge.

Hold on there one minute … according to the latest Republican pronouncements, the plantations were supposed to be places of wonderful kind and compassionate owners of lucky people who were delivered from their lives of hardship and poverty in Africa. I guess this asshat didn’t get the memo.
