Cancer is an awful disease, and its toll on the body is brutal. Almost everyone, including myself, knows someone who has succumbed to the disease. One common trait that I have noticed, is the courage, grace, and dignity of the people who are battling it. They are truly an inspiration to those of us lucky enough to not have cancer.

Life is fragile. I feel lucky to have made it to 55. I am amazed at all the people I have known who did not. I count my blessings often.
